BakeSpace is pleased to announce that one of our members, Chuck Cardamon, has just published a salsa-wine pairing cookbook called "Salsavino." To celebrate, we’re staging the spiciest BakeSpace cook-off ever! So break out your favorite salsa recipes and join the fun.

To Enter:

Add your recipe(s) to the BakeSpace Global Cookbook under Sauces and Salsas.   Note that each recipe should produce at least 4 cups of salsa.

To Vote:

Browse our Salsas. When you find one you like, click on the Bakespace Cook-off link to the right to cast your vote. Remember that you need to be logged in to vote.

What will you win?

Members whose recipes earn the top three vote totals will receive an autographed copy of "Salsavino," the hot new salsa-wine pairing cookbook. In the event of a tie, Chuck Cardamon, author and our site’s resident “salsaoficianado,” will pick the winner.

The next five runner-ups will receive a 50% discount if they purchase the book (which retails for $14.99).

The Author & Cookbook

The Author, Chuck Cardamon, with his Cookbook

In 2000, Chuck entered the Pairing of Food, Wine, Talent and Technique competition with his recipe "Coulotte Steaks with Dried Berry-Mushroom Beurre Rouge" and took second place. After that, while most other contestants moved on with their lives, he continued to meet and work with Livermore Valley Cellars. Tim "Biff" Sauer, the winemaker, asked him to bring some salsas to the Salsavino event. They were well received and he has made all of them since...and now the cookbook.

The book is a wonderful companion cookbook and a kitchen essential for anyone interested in salsa. Spiral bound with large, easy to read type the book has plenty of space to write notes on each page. It’s sure to inspire you to create great salsa recipes of your own.

About the Author:

Chuck Cardamon is a retired US Navy SEAL who has traveled around the world. After retirement, he pursued his lifelong love of food and wine by attending the prestigious California Culinary Academy and graduating with an AOS degree in Culinary Arts. Today he’s known by friends and fans as “the Salsa King.”
