Sucking the Joy Out of Thanksgiving

With most of my urban family going gluten-free, I'm not looking forward to Thanksgiving this year. Sure, the turkey, veggies, and my father's recipe for cranberry salad are all GF, but the dressing, the rolls, and the pies will all taste like the Muppets sound after the death of Jim Henson---just wrong somehow. I guess I could look at this as an opportunity. Ditch the heavy carbs altogether and just enjoy a feast made from fresh, recognizable ingredients. Like a vegan who eats Schmeat, GF pie crust seems like missing the point. Nah...I'm still gonna pout about this.
