I work long shifts at work (12 hours), so when I get home I dont always have time to prepare meals that take a long time, and lord knows if my husband was in charge it would be Taco Bell every night. Last night was a "whats in the freezer that can go with the steaks I left out" kinda day. I found some frozen (all natural) rosemary and garlic potato wedges (if I think of the name, I'll post it) and a bag of frozen broccoli. Hmm, no shredded cheese to top the broccoli...but I have butter. Keep in mind this is not healthy, nor do I work on the butter council, but I love my butter, and I think browned butter is my best friend. This is the easiest recipe in the world and you cant mess it up. 1 bag frozen broccoli --follow cooking directions on bag and drain 1 stick of butter --you could use less but why? Cook on medium heat in small pan untill butter turns orangish-brown. Pour butter over broccoli serve immediatly. The bits of butter that turn brown turn into this nutty, oh so good, yummy flavor. I am a southern girl and I love my "meat and taters" but I'd trade in my "meat and taters" for browned butter over broccoli anyday. My uncle (married into the fam) is a yankee...ok hes a damn yankee (moved down here and wont leave) and I love him to death...but he said, "You southerners know how to take something so healthy and turn it into something so horrible." Oh he was right...but it tastes oh so good! Try it sometime, you might like it! Oh for what its worth the steaks were marinated in Allegro Original Seasoning for 20 minutes, and the potato wedges were really good. Ill have to try to find the name.
