When it's just little ole me...

I was just thinking about something someone said to me recently. My boyfriend was out of town on business and it was just me for dinner. This person told me that she hopes that I wasn't going to bother cooking anything since it was just me. Originally, I didn't plan on it but the more I thought about it, the more I felt like cooking. Why is it that we should give the best of us to others but go cheap when it's just for ourselves? I love to cook, period. It doesn't matter who I'm cooking for or who I'm not cooking for, I just love to do it. So, I decided to make myself a lovely dinner, served on dinnerware (no paper plates because it's "just me") and poured myself a glass of wine. I ate slowly and enjoyed my meal and my own company. If this isn't something you've done before and you usually resort to take out or boxed mac and cheese when you are alone, I suggest you give it a try. You deserve it!
