So this time of the year is when I LOVE to bake. Cookies, cakes, desserts, breads, EVERYTHING! Last night I decided I was going to bake doggie treats and some corn bread. Both turned out AWESOME! I found the recipes on here. My dogs loved the cookies. The youngest one was salivating just at the smell of the peanut butter in them. They were SOOO super easy to make and I plan on making them more. I made the recipe below, but only actually baked 1/2 of them. The other half I put in a bag and froze. Peanut Butter Doggie Bones by krashed24 INGREDIENTS 2 cups whole-wheat flour 1 Tablespoon baking powder 1 cup natural peanut butter 1 cup low-fat milk DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk. Add wet mixture to dry, and mix well. Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack and store in an airtight container. ** When I did them i did some with cookie cutters and some others i wanted to make a bit smaller so I took balls of the dough and smooshed them down to make small little cookies. They all turned out great and were super SUPER easy. ONTO THE CORNBREAD! It was sooo delicious. There were only 3 pieces left out of the entire pan when all was said and done! I forgot to add the cheese that the recipe called for, substituted mild chili peppers for the jalapenõs and substituted regular onions for the green onions (because I just used what I already had in the house). IT was GREAT!
