Halloween for Everybody!

While I try not to dig into that black hole of nostalgia, I will admit that Halloween is not what it used to be. I haven't seen much in the way of kids Trick-or-Treating in local neighborhoods; houses are pretty sparse, hardly a grinning Jack-o-Lantern is to be seen; and all I ever see people enjoying in regards to Halloween delights are "fun sized" Snickers bars (not all that fun since they're the size of my thumb!).
So, what happened? The origins of modern day Halloween are relatively new, dating back to around the Victorian days but as the decades have ticked past we seem to have watered-down all the activities associated with the "holiday." Why is this? What made us turn a nonchalant shoulder on one the most fun and exuberant holidays available to us?
I'd like to find out. But I'm more interested in how we can get the Halloween ball rolling! I intend to update this blog All Year! It's going to be a fun ride - I hope you join me! :)
