Its been a while...

...since I last posted, but we have gotten our elliptical machine and I LOVE IT! I have also joined sparkpeople.com which is a weightloss and exercise site. Its great help and motivation to keep me going.
So sparkpeople.com has given me some daily goals as far as food intake goes. Calories 1200-1550, carbs 135-252, fat 27-60 and protein 30-136. Im having a hard time getting in my protien range and I keep going over in the carb range. Any suggestions would be great.
My friend also wants to get in better shape. She suggested we set a goal to do the Bridge Run in Charleston, SC. Well we thought it was a 5k. Nope, its a 10k!!!! Of cours we would go the run/walk route, but still a freking 10k!!! I dont think Ive ever done 10k in my life....combined...LOL. So once I get better into working out Im gonna start training for a 5k...and go from there. Probably try the couch potato to 5k training guide.
So how does all this tie into food. I have become more aware of what I eat, and now am able to understand the labels on the backs of products and how it relates to my body. It use to be just a number...now I know more of what that number means. And I know what kinds of foods and drinks I need to have to make my exercise work with my body, and my goals.
