Chili Cookoff Update

Had a very busy last few days. Felt some major stress. On Thursday we had our chili cookoff as I was also booking the accrual for the entire Dallas office. So I was working at my desk and then running outside to the parking garage every half hour. Was a windy day so the propane burner kept going out. Also very hot...set a record high at 90... Any way we did get Todd into the cow costume..apparently our media guy did not get a picture but does have it on video. I will try to post some pics on Monday when I get back to work. Our team came in 3rd out of 9. OK for not having beans or being too hot (we didn't want to make it too hot to eat, some were). Took Friday off work to spend time with my cousin's wife and her 2.5 year old in town from DC. The child is learning English, Spanish, Mandarin and American Sign Language (parents are Harvard/Yale law). As far as I can tell he is speaking the Spanish and English, not sure on the Mandarin or the ASL. Hard to make that out from child baby talk as I wouldn't know it if I heard or saw it. He is a joy to be around, so bright and happy. Fun to watch him chase around my terrified cat Pookie..yelling OOK OOK play with me!! Took the Tarantula Train from Grapevine to the Stockyards in Ft. Worth to see the cattle drive. Was a looong day and spent a good 4 hours on the train. Major headache by the time I got back. Dad was blitzed as we left him alone all afternoon and evening with several bottles of wine...I feel like I have another sinus infection brewing. Maybe after inhaling all that diesel fuel from the train yesterday. Been exhausted all day on the couch. Have not been to gym in 2 days. Will run tomorrow. Went out to eat to Cafe Medi for dinner. I love Greek/Med/Lebanese food. They had my favorite grilled lamb chops as special. God I love lamb chops. Don't need anything but a drizzle of olive oil and maybe some oregano.
