BRIEF NOTES on ARGENTINA

Oh my god! This place is ridiculous. From the people to the food to the vast and varied natural wonders. I keep thinking that the last natural wonder I just saw can´t be topped and then I go the next place and am completely blown away. I´ll actually have to add some pictures when I get back. I´ve seen intricately organized waterfalls to penguins near Antarctica to ginormous blue blue glaciars. At the glaciars, I half expected to see that snow monster from the old Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer cartoon to come waddling out. I got to hike on the actual glaciar (probably adding to its demise...nature-destroying tourism is another whole topic that I could go on and on for). And the food...the food. Literally, an entire rare tenderloin steak (probably almost a 1 lb.), with salad, side, and half a bottle of wine....oh say about $10-20 depending on where you go. I basically order an empanada everywhere I go as well and will report back on where the best one was because that is very very important to me. And the medialunas....to die for. I still have only hit the tip of the iceberg as I was only in BA for a few days, but am returning there for the sole purpose of eating, drinking, and shopping. I´ve already eaten enough snow king crab down in Patagonia to last me awhile....so good. And the wine....the wine! Very good bottles of wine for $10-15, decent bottles of wine for less. It´s good a I did a lot of hiking in Patagonia and Ushuaia, but even despite that, I have a feeling that after 5 days in BA, someone is going to have roll me off the plane. More later when I get back!
