Spaghetti Turning

Turning long spaghetti on the end of a fork seems to be a lost art. People are either breaking up the spaghetti into little pieces before cooking or cutting it up after it's cooked - "it's too messy" to do otherwise.
Part of the enjoyment of a pot of sauce and spaghetti is the way you eat it. It takes a little getting used to, but it's not that hard to do - kind of like learning to use chopsticks.
All you need is a tablespoon or a "pasta" (wider than normal)spoon - just something big enough to collect the spaghetti - and a fork.
It's really easy to do:
-Mix up the spaghetti and sauce the same way you would mix up a salad with fork and spoon.
-Dip the end of the spoon into the middle of the spaghetti.
-Catch 2-3 pieces of spaghetti in the very end of the fork and begin to turn. Make sure you hold the fork on an angle, not straight up and down.
-While you're turning, move the fork onto the middle of the spoon and lift both up, continuing to turn until the spaghetti is completely wrapped around the fork.
Enjoy. And don't forget to sop up the sauce with a crusty bread.
It'll get a little messy sometimes, but that's part of the fun.
When I was kid, Serafini's Restaurant used to give everyone a huge bib with dinner, but even they stopped doing it (unless you ask for it) because people don't want to make a mess when they're out. Times have changed.
It's at least worth trying and makes the meal more fun.
