Fishing, Pizza and other nonsense

Wednesday night we were able to go out on the boat, bringing a work buddy of Dave's along with us. I caught a 16 inch catfish on my 3rd cast!! He was a nice looking fish and noisy! They can sound like a little pig grunting for those of you who didn't know they make noise! I caught a very small bluegill which I threw back and Phil caught a large mouth bass that needed to grow some more so he released him. We decided the catfish was worth taking home so Dave filleted him for me. I haven't eaten him yet as I was hoping to catch another one to add to it for supper. We went out on the boat again yesterday with Syd and Josh (Dave's kids) but nothing was biting for me. I guess I'll have to just cook up the catfish I already have and maybe add it to something else for a nice sized dinner. After having ham & cheese sandwiches and chips for lunch on the boat we all decided we wanted pizza for supper. The HyVee grocery store in Dubuque makes really good pizza's so I ordered 2 baked pizza's to go. For only $7.99 you can get a 12" pizza with 1 topping baked for you! Not bad at all. Since they are a grocery store, they'll make whatever flavor you want as long as they carry the ingredients in the store! It's much better than heating up the kitchen on a hot spring day baking ourselves! And of course there is enough leftovers for a couple days of lunches or suppers for us. I plan on making beef stew for lunch, a favorite of my step-daughters. I'll have to pay attention to how much of everything I put in and add it to my recipe book to share with everyone. I usually just throw it all in the pot, adding this and that. Yummy!
