busy, busy, busy

Wow, it's been a long time since I updated this! I won't even try to catch up. I wanted to tell you about last night's creations. At my place of employment we draw names for birthday treats. Well, my co-worker that I was assigned to bring a treat for has a birthday tomorrow. So, I decided to bring her treats today. But I couldn't just BRING treats, I had to over do it! I made 20 orange-sugar cookies on sticks for a bouquet. The were all shaped like fish. Some actually looked like NEMO!! And I made some that looked like angel fish. It only took a star shaped cookie cutter and a little dough pinching. My husband helped me decorate them, it was fun to do it together. Then I made a cake in my Pampered Chef 8 cup mixing bowl and used it inverted as a "rock". I used a teen doll pick in the top and decorated it like a mermaid sitting on the rock. There were shells, waves of "water", and dolphins jumping out of the water. My dolphins were made with color flow. It was my first attempt at color flow technique and I can say that I'm very proud of the job I did. The birthday girl was very happy with her treats. I got a lot of other compliments too! Fun! Otherwise, not much else going on food wise. We had great 4th of July and I hope you all did too!
