Basic Blends: Healthy Juicing Recipes
Nature provides its own containers for healthy juices: fresh fruits & vegetables! Fresh juice is loaded with cancer-fighting phytochemicals and vitamins. In juice form, they can easily absorbed by the body. Juicing might seem intimidating in the beginning, but there are no rules, so have fun. Most fresh fruits and vegetables can be juiced in endless combinations. May your health be in harmony and your imagination inspired. Enjoy!
Feel like a smoothie rather than a juice? Combine 1 cup juice from any recipe; add the following and purée until smooth.
• 1 cup ice cubes
• 1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
• 1 medium peeled banana in a blender
To add a little kick or spice to your juice, select your preference, and add to taste.
• Hot pepper sauce
• Fresh ground pepper
• Celery seed
• Ground cumin
