Look at these beautiful Heirloom tomatoes I found for 98 cents a pound. I usually use plum tomatoes for my sauce but these couldn't be passed up.

In this cookbook you will find recipes that DO NOT contain any potatoes, grains, sugars (except honey), flours (expect nut flours), all potatoes, starches, dried beans, sausages (unless homemade), most cooking oils (only olive, grape seed, avocado oils and scant amounts of canola oil), baking powder, sweet wines, spicy peppers, MSG, balsamic vinegar, most soft cheeses, pre-grated cheeses, baking powder, most mayonnaise (only Trader Joe’s® canola oil based), soy, chocolate, milk, creams, bread, yeast, catsup (only homemade), citrus acid or calcium chloride. This list is not complete, but you can see a lot of these ingredients are what I (and possibly you) take for granted every day to prepare meals.

I searched hundreds of Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), Clean Eating, and Paleo recipes for ideas, only a few actually worked for her as they were written. Since I love making lists; I have lists for things I will never use. I now got to make a “new recipes to try” list (yippy skippy I’m getting excited again)!

While doing the research, my first challenge was the recipes had to be “Lauren” proof. Second it had to pass my, ahem, “sophisticated palate”. The last obstacle was substituting ingredients while keeping the recipes enjoyable for her family too.

I want to start by saying thank you to all of you who have shared your recipes for us to make and enjoy. As I was gathering recipes many years ago I did not attached the website or blog page information with the recipes.
