ES Diversity - Creating Connections through Food Volume 2 Desserts and Cakes
QuesilloQuesillo is a sweet dessert. It’s a sweet egg custard with my favourite ingredient – coconut. Coconut represents The Tropics. The dessert reminds me of my mum, my aunty and my grandmother all of whom used to cook this for special family occasions when I was young. I hope you enjoy it. Amanda
Russian Sharlotka - Easy Apple CakeIt is said to have been invented in the late 18th century by a French chef for his Russian employer, Tsar Alexander I. This much simpler version became a traditional Russian dessert. I have chosen it because it is popular among Russians, known as modern Russian dessert but at the same time influenced by a French recipe from 200 years ago. I hope you enjoy it. Alex
DOL-DOLIt is traditionally made during the Christmas season and is a much-loved treat for the Anglo-Indian culture. It is a ‘ Moorish’ sweet as once you taste it, you can’t stop wanting more. I hope you enjoy it! Rebecca
