COOKBOOK DESCRIPTION
I love making pies and have never been intimidated with making the crust. In this cookbook my favorite crust that just never goes wrong will be included. Now if I could just get my husband to like pies, sigh. Oh well, I have plenty of takers including the people he works with.
COOKBOOK PREVIEW (18 recipes)
 | Creamy Cheesecake I line the spring form pan on the outside with tin foil since I have had some of the butter leak out while making the cheesecake creating a mess! |
 | Speedy Cheesecake Pie
|
 | Orange Fluff Pie
|
 | Peanut butter pie I got this from a guy who ran a coffee shop in Fayettville. It was always a nice drive there to get some fresh roasted coffee beans. It was a sad day when he closed his shop. |
 | Lemon Sponge Pie
|
 | Banana Breeze Pie
|
 | Cherry Banana Pie
|
 | Pineapple Cherry Pie I got this recipe from my husbands grandmother. |
 | Butterscotch Meringue Pie
|
 | Caramel Apple Pie
|
 | Green Tomato Pie I kid you not, this tastes like an apple pie. |
 | Vanilla Wafer Crust
|
 | Pennsylvania Dutch Pie Crust
|
 | Carmelized Banana Tart (Land O Lakes) This banana dessert is a variation of the classic “Tarte Tatin”.
Recipe Tip 1
Make sure thawed puff pastry does not become warm or it may not rise properly. When rolling, work from center of dough toward edges taking care to keep consistent thickness.
Recipe Tip 2
If using a glass baking dish, reduce oven temperature to 400°F.
Bake as directed above. |
 | Bacon and Corn Quiche Who knew, that my family would love quiche?? Ever since they tried this they request it often. |
 | Shephards Pie This is a meal I have been making for at least 25 years, my kids have always loved it. Now as grown men, they still request it |
 | 9x13 Chicken Pot Pie I had some leftover grilled chicken breasts and needed a way to use them. I also had bought a new product that I wanted to try, those little tubs of Knorr stock. Hubby has always loved when I make pot pies so he was quite happy when I told him what I was going to make. He groaned after eating, because he had eaten too much, I guess that is a good sign, right? Seriously though he said it was really good. |
 | No fail pie crust (2 crusts, may use as top and bottom on pie or two pies with no top crust) I have been using this recipe since I got it from my SIL many years ago. Some people have told me that it is a Crisco pie crust recipe. Wherever it may have come from I have been using it for 30+ years and have never had it not turn out right. Someone once told me also that you can not re-roll pie crust, this particular recipe is very forgiving and I have re-rolled it many times. |
