We have a dog that lives down the street named Ibanez that visits my home twice a day - she loves my cat and they love her. She had been battling cancer for a few months and her twice daily trips started becoming once a day if any... I saw her yesterday and she looked great - she even wanted to chase the cats and everything! I absolutely love this dog like she is my own..

Well, today I got an email from her "parents" with her name in the subject line - I didn't even want to open it. I just couldn't bring myself to what would probably be some bad news. It was. The note said she passed away in her sleep early this morning - even as I type this my eyes just can't swelling up with tears. She was pretty awesome. I've never had a dog, so when one was really friendly and starting coming around daily it was a way for me to break up the day with some easy going conversation and play. My cats drove her crazy! They seriously were great friends.

Well, I thought I'd share - I feel kinda bad being so upset when clearly her family is even more devastated than me. But I can't help feel that my days have somehow changed. I looked forward to hearing them call for the cats outside.. I have all these treats still - should have given them to her more.

Anyhow, my BF tries to comfort me by saying.. she was home and asleep, it was a perfect way to go. They're lucky. When our cat Seether passed away it was pretty traumatic. Kidney failure and it was fast - literally overnight and she was gone. She died and came back several times in my arms before I had the courage to put her to sleep. I'm still pretty devastated by her passing. On the day they brought her ashes home, I was scheduled to pitch a tv show to a network - let's just say it didn't go over too well. I literally walked out of the door when the man showed up with the box. I was a mess...

Well, I'm pretty sad about losing Ibanez. She was my first "dog" and I already miss her.

I'm so sorry Babs. I feel for you. I know what it's like to lose a pet and a pet friend. Sad

Oh Babs, that's so sad. I do remember you telling stories and sharing pics of her and your cats. I always thought it was just too darn cute that she came over to "visit" everyday. So sorry for your loss. hugs girl!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. I've been trying to get a lot done today and I just can't seem to focus. I'm speaking on a panel tomorrow night & I should be getting ready for it and doing our pineapple newsletter.. I just started organizing the kitchenaid addresses and google docs doesn't let us copy & paste!!!! AAARRRG how frustrating. So I'm doing them one by one.

What a day...

Oh, Babs, I'm so sorry for you. We've lost a couple of kitties over the past few years and it is so hard. Each time we tell ourselves we will have no more animals and then another one comes home and we love them all, too. I'll keep my fingers crossed that another puppy will find its way over to visit with your kitty. Smile

Babs, feeling your pain. Had to put my kitty to sleep 2 weeks ago yesterday, and although I already have a new shelter kitty to share my home with, I miss my Simon everyday.

Hugs... Crying or Very sad

Babette....I'm sooo sorry to hear about your Fur-Baby Friend passing away. I know you and Kitty will both miss her stopping by everyday to play and beg for those treats. There's nothing better than unconditional love from an animal! We have all lost a member of our Fur-baby Family and it will always hurt. But you have fond memories of her that will last a lifetime. Hugs to You and your Kitty, Debbie
