So, I don't think I've ever had zinfandel before. I mean, I've had the wine cooler grade stuff that you drink when you're 16, but that's not really the same thing. At least I hope it's not. Well, I guess we'll find out!
There are two basic kinds of zinfandel. Zinfandel, a red with flavors of "red berry fruits like raspberry... blackberry, anise and pepper" Bold and spicy is what kept coming up for a descriptor.
And White Zinfandel, "is an off-dry to sweet, pink-colored blush wine". Sounds like something my girlfriend would like. It's the stuff I remember from back in the day, although I'm sure I can find a better bottle now than I could back then.
I think for the purposes of this tasting we should go with either one. Or maybe everyone should try to try both, see which one is preferred. If people are up for that much wine, that is. Heh.

Here is a link to the Wikipedia article on zinfandel, for those who are interested. It's where I got those quotes about the wines. |

Oh yum! I haven't had Zinfandel in like, forever!
And....I think I can choke down a COUPLE of bottles, ya know, for the sake of experimentation and take one for the team |
