I think Vick should be tortured like he tortured the dogs. Pits get a very bad rap. I own a beautiful 106 lb Pit Bull. she is very gentle and likes to think of herself as a lap dog. I do a lot of work with pitbull rescue groups. You would be shocked at how these dogs are treated. I would attack if I was treated as badly as these animals.

And his plea was such a wimpy one. he said he "bank rolled it but didn't know what actually went on". Yeah right. That's why his friends were ready to testify that they witnessed him electrocuting pups.
Has anyone else heard what al sharpton's two cents were? sickening..... _________________

I did not.. I did hear that the NAACP was getting involved and that they were going to try to get him another chance with the NFL... I think they should stay out of this.. this is a bad guy who abuses animals.. not a race issue. Bad people = bad people.. no matter what age, race.. .you get the point. |

I got this today (I'm a member of the ASPCA)....
Dear ASPCA Members and Supporters:
With Michael Vick today appearing in federal court to file his plea in the federal dog fighting case that has been pending since July, I wanted to let you know directly that today we revealed our role in the federal investigation: ASPCA Forensic Veterinarian, Dr. Melinda Merck, participated in the excavation of the graves, and examination of the remains.
It has been an honor for the ASPCA to assist federal authorities in this case. We are also extremely proud to be working with the National Football League to raise public awareness of the humane treatment of animals. The NFL took strong, swift and decisive action against Michael Vick on Friday by suspending him indefinitely without pay.
Please join the ASPCA in sending a message of support to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Inspector General, USDA, letting them know that their efforts are not going unnoticed. http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=cruelty_letters&JServSessionIdr005=kgh60q39o1.app25b
We continue to assist this case by leading a team of animal behavior experts in evaluating the dogs seized from Vick’s property earlier this year. Please visit www.aspca.org/cruelty often for updates.
Thank you very much for your support of the ASPCA—it is that which enables us to pursue our 141-year old mission, which is as crucial today as when we were founded all those years ago—to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals. Every day, we come one step closer to being a humane community. We could not do it without you.

Got to put in my two cents worth. I think it is horrid and anyone who is involved should be punished but the law is not harsh enough for people who abuse animals. A rap on the knuckles is about it. But then from what I read there is a lot of cock fighting in Florida. Roosters are animals too. When is the last time anyone got charged with that, or people who drag dogs behind trucks or torture their pets. I can accept other cultures eating dogs and cats. It is what they get raised to do. I don't fault them unless they are inhumane to the animal before it is killed. I was recently on a western Caribbean cruise and during one hurricane season the chickens were abandoned. Those who survived now have the freedom of the island. I figured that is as it should be unless someone was to catch them to pen them for eggs and such.
