I made a sangria yesterday. I was gonna try for a tequila sunrise type...but forgot to add the tequila. So...let's just call it...
Citronge Sangria
1 bottle reisling
8 oz pom juice (was going to use some grenadine but couldn't find it)
8 oz orange juice
8 oz gingerale
1/2 cup orange liquor (Patron Citroge)
1 cup simple syrup
1 orange
1/4 fresh pineapple
2 pears
I totally forgot to take a picture. It was sort of a peachy rose color. I guess kinda like a tequila sunrise mixed up. only without the tequila but everyone thought it was really good and I didn't want to mess with the flavor by adding the tequila (well....for them, but for me...it would've been a huge plus! LOL) _________________ Danielle

Danielle, I have got to call my SIL when she was here she mentioned that she had bottle of Reisling that she did not like at all, I bet if she fixed it up into your white sangria she would love it! Her and I were talking about white Sangrias just the week before. I was afraid she wouldn't like the Reisling, she only likes really sweet wines. I learned to love Reisling when I lived in Germany. MMMmmm. _________________ Patti

Both Cathy and Danielle's latest creations look and sound great!
I'm working on another some more recipes too....Another one with Riesling and one with a Concord (red). Because we still have a lot left from Jim's last bottling session
Just FYI....(for those curious) not all Rieslings are sweet...most are, but not all. I've found some dryer ones, usually around the Holidays. Now, unfortunately I can't remember the particular producers (sorry) but I KNOW they are out there LOL |
