I need to tone my sangrias down...apparently I punished the girls by hiding the remote control from them. Only it was ME who was looking for the darn thing the next day. Shocked (I eventually found it under my bed, after telling everyone they were crazy...why on earth would I take the remote control? Embarassed Laughing)

P.S....last week it was a red umbrella that I SWORE Jess used and had it in her car. (I found it behind my desk about a week later Rolling Eyes )

I accused nat of throwing a towel in the bathroom trash based on the grounds that her and I were the only ones who used the bathroom that day (4 people live in the house and we only have ONE bathroom!) LOL ya...I was a mess apparently

I made this recipe today, it was one of Emeril Lagasse's, but I changed a few things.

1 bottle red wine
1/4 cup brandy (I only had blueberry brandy so that's what I used)
1/4 cup orange flavored liqueur (I used triple sec)
2 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 tablespoon fresh orange juice
1/4 cup sugar (I didn't use it because I am dieting..I could have used Splenda, but I was using Ginger Ale, so I figures that had sugar)
1/2 orange, thinly sliced (I used Clementines)
1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
1 unwaxed apple, cored, and cut into thin wedges
I also added a nectarine and a peach
1 bottle sparkling water, chilled (I used ginger ale because of the sugar and because it's all I had)

Combine everything but the sparkling water in a large plastic container or glass pitchers. Cover and chill completely, 1 to 2 hours. When ready to serve, add the sparkling water.

I've only had Sangria one or two times before, so I'm not sure if this turned out the way it was supposed to. It does taste good and hits the spot on this hot, steamy night.

If it tastes good and hits the spot, then I'd say it turned out perfectly! It really does look refreshing Smile
