Hi everybody, what will be on your table this weekend? Anything inspiring or convenient? I'm trying to discipline my self and start cooking again after my stair flight Today I did a basic pasta, prawns and broccoli.

that looks so good...even to someone who can't eat shellfish! How does it feel to be back to cooking?
I'm making something new tonight....Bacon Cheddar Corn Chowder. Im making the chicken stock right now and then will bake some bread to go with it. I'm excited to try something new. I've heard nothing but good things about corn chowder. _________________ Danielle

Feels awesome, though I'm still a bit limited pending on my level of energy. So for the moment it'll be mostly in the weekend
Your Bacon Cheddar Corn chowder sounds very interesting. Bacon, yum.
Just made my self some bangers in puff pastry. Want one for breakfast?

Oh yes! please send some my way. that does look good As for your energy level....just take it as it comes and rest easy the remainder of the time.
My chowder came out very good.
I think the best part of this chowder was the broth LOL. I used Julia Child's method for making stock and it was delish! The "chowder" part was very basic...potatoes, onions, corn, cheese. It probably would've been better if I had been able to use fresh corn.
And i had fun making the bread on the side. I'll be using the same dough to make pizza tonight. _________________ Danielle

OMG, that looks wonderful. I think a bowl of that definitely will stop my nose from running and soothe my sore throat. _________________ Fanmajie

Thanks Danielle. I did something new too. I marinated bacon in lemon juice, five spices powder, salt and sugar. Baked it in the oven until crisp and dished it up with a celery salad and noodles in soy sauce. Tasted very garlicky:D .

It all looks so good.
I'm roasting a chicken and sweet potatoes with a side of tater tot casserole. Also made biscuits and mini cupcakes for dessert.
Can you tell that it's chilly here today and I just felt like having the oven on most of the day?
I'm just waiting for Jim to show up... I'm starving!
Did everybody remember to change their clocks for daylight saving time?
Whee! A whole extra hour to spend! _________________ -----Martha |
