Good Morning, Friends,

What a lovely morning. I want to get a nice walk in before the temperatures rise later today. Later, I hope to check paint swatches. My kitchen is blue and white, but the blue is not the shade I expected.

Carolyn - Are you here in the lower peninsula yet? You're correct... the 90's are expected for most of the week. What do you plan on doing with the strawberries?

Have a great day!
~~Vicki

Good morning, well at least for 7 minutes or so it is morning. I had a wonderful visit with my son and his friend Tina, they brought me a case of lemons to try my hand at making limoncello. They brought me a bottle of their homemade tangelocello, ha ha, the made their limoncello with tangerines. We had dinner together, steaks on the grill and potatoes cooked on the grill also. While hubby was in the livingroom watching sports, the rest of us had some cauliflower, kohlrabi and two different kinds of fresh cherries. Hubby is going to try to stick to his diet until he gets well, then we will stick to a high fiber diet. Right now I feel like I have to hide to eat fruits or veggies since he can't have them right now. After talking to people he works with I think he finally realizes he better try his best to stick to the diet and listen to his Dr.s so he doesn't make things worse. The weather was so nice yesterday that we spent a lot of time out on the deck. Remember me saying that the deer were eating the leaves off of the squash plant? I made up a concoction of vinegar, hot sauce etc and sprayed it on the plant and they quit eating it, BUT now I noticed that they ate every last geranium blossom of my plants!! Seems I just can't win.

**Vicki, I hope you had a nice walk and an easy time getting the color of paint you want.

**Ann, we got our rain this morning, it didn't last too long. We had watered the garden last evening so I am glad it didn't rain too much. You are right, animal shelters are always looking for donations.

**Fan, hmmm even your insects seem to be joining in on the sports fever.

**Nubbins, you are really going to town on that quilt, you will have it finished in no time.

**Carolyn, hope this week goes smooth for you. It would really be nice for you if you come home to a newly painted bathroom, hope it happens.

Well, I did have a lovely morning, but it all changed with a thunderstorm and power outage. Took my walk in Home Depot and Walmart... not exactly what I had planned. It is a blessing to come home and find the power restored after only 2-1/2 hours..

Ann - How are your leg and foot?

PattiT - Family time is a joy. I must have missed something... what type of diet is your husband on?

~~Vicki

Hi everybody, have a smashing Monday Very Happy .

Carolyn, indeed I sure hope you will have a refurbished bathroom when you get back after such a busy week. Good luck with the kiddos this week, I'll be thinking of you.
PattiT, despite of the bugs efforts the miracle of Charkov didn't happen. Tonight the soccer team arrived on the national airport, their tournament is over Smile Good luck with a hubby on a diet Wink .
Vicki, did you succeed in getting the paint? Do you happen to go for the "Delft" blue like the pottery?
Ann-Marie, we had a real down pour this morning with severe lightning that affected our railway system right in the rush hour. Luckily I only needed my umbrella to get to the office Laughing

Had a busy day at the office, tried to put one day of work in half a day cause I had a meeting at the National Archives in the Hague this afternoon. I managed to set out different things by mail, but when I checked in after coming back nobody had answered yet. So totally unsatisfactory. Causes me to have a very busy day tomorrow again. Yuck. But the weather will be nice and I have a nice bike ride to the external storage. Very Happy
Better tuck in early tonight, I'm pretty pooped after today. See ya'll tomorrow.

Fan - You certainly had a busy day, with another busy day ahead.

Regarding my kitchen: A few years ago, I chose a color blue that competed with rather than complemented the Delft. This time, I want to get a color that makes the Delft stand out. Everyone likes the white in my kitchen. So, I'm trying to decide if that one wall and bulkhead should be lighter (a very pale blue or gray, a very subtle difference from the white), or should be or darker. (???).

Any suggestions from anyone???

~~Vicki

Hi Everybody!!
Sorry I haven't been around. No reason, just been puttering around.

Debbie - So sorry to hear about Andy Cat. I know you must miss him. Have you thought of getting another one? It's surprising how a new little fur baby can heal your broken heart.

Carolyn - You are actually going away for a week? I know it's to watch the kids, but at least it will be a change of scenery! Hope you're having fun. Won't it be exciting to come home to a redecorated bathroom?

Fan - Sorry your soccer team didn't win. Sounds like you've been busy lately. I'm glad you still have time to take pictures of flowers and bugs for us!

Vicki - Did you pick out a paint color yet? The color always seems to come out just a little different than you planned, doesn't it?

Pattit - Your son's tangecello (with tangerines) sounds delicious!! I tried spraying my plants with red pepper spray too... the trouble is, you have to reapply after every rain shower. Rotten little buggers!! Oh yeah, they LOVE geraniums!!

Ann - Did you get that big rain storm that went thru with hail and everything?? It didn't make it this far, but I heard about it. Has your kitty gotten over his "fifteen minutes of fame" yet. I hope you don't get a bunch of talent scouts knocking on your door.... trying to sign him up for his own reality show or something! (I hate it when that happens) Laughing

Haven't been doing much.... used my new chain saw to cut two trees in the back yard that were more dead than alive. (Yay!) And I put stakes and plastic deer fencing around my lilac bush. And I made Daniele's Teriyaki Chicken yesterday and sliced it over a nice big salad (yum)

It's supposed to be in the 90's for the next few days, so I'll be chillin' in the air conditioning.

Hi to anybody I may have missed!
