Morning Everyone,

I thought I would pop in and say hello. I have been busy planning a reception for a young man that will become a priest on Saturday. We were with him and his family in Italy when we became a Deacon and so I offered to plan the reception on July 1st. My friends came over last month and we made about 350 pieorgies, then I made 200 more myself. I have made 17 pepperoni rolls, 500 little meatballs, and 4 pound cake for chocolate dipping. Oh, and I just finished 200 scallops wrapped in bacon. We have ordered a somethings from caterers also. The hard part is not knowing how many people will be there. It will be after mass and so everyone will be invited. Maybe Fr. Michael will have to perform the loaves and fishes miracle.

Nubbins and Pattit, I am the one that was looking for a small Singer. I'll look it up, but I'm sure it is gone by now for that price.

Headed out to take the first load of supplies and things to the church. The weather is great here, a little cool, but sunny.

Karen - goodness girl ---- you've been busy!!! Shocked Glad to see you popped in to let us know what's been going on in your neck of the woods.

Not much new here. Went to see the sunset last night, and MAN, was it ~~windy~~ over there!! Glad I wore a jacket. Came home and jumped into the shower, came down and watched a little TV then went to bed...about froze! That darned wind got chillier, had to get up and get another comforter to put on the bed. They are saying warmer today (74º) but windy.

Guess I'll get around here, thinking about tearing up the basement and getting it cleaned up today, especially where Jim made me shelves for the extra canned goods.

Take care,
Ann

Hi everybody, have a smashing day Very Happy

Gigi, amazing. It almost looks as if you have started a catering service Smile .
Ann-Marie, it is warmer here today. And we have sun!!!!!!! Good luck today in the dungeon Wink
Martha, occasionally a car gets parked in the water. But that immediately breaks the news, since it is so rare. Laughing Laughing . Though you have to admit that the Dutch in general do have some parking skills. Cool

Took a few pics yesterday of our roof chicks. They are flourishing tremendously. Mum or Dad are still supervising them all the time, but more and more at a distance and the youngsters are trotting over the roof by them selves.

I have been taking another load of pics of them today again. I love observing them and see them grow up.

GOOD MORNING GIRLS, Sorry I have been absent for a few days. I've been soooo busy shopping with Tiffany and the kids and by the time I get home I'm exhausted! With school starting earlier and earlier, I like to spend as much time with the kids as possible. Plus next week they are on Vacation for a week and I'll miss them soooo, But they all are extremely excited! We went shopping several times and I bought them all some things they needed and wanted, including Tiffany and they couldn't tell me enough times ,"Thank You"! We were going to take the kids to the movies yesterday, but ran out of time as I had a dentist appt. to get that stupid tooth pulled. It was being very stubborn and she had a hard time getting it out. She was very gentle, put had her hands in my mouth longer than I liked! Oh well, it's out and no more keeping me up at nite. Yesterday morning we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and as we were walking up the sidewalk to the front door I told Mat (Tiffs hubby) "I hope you have a full wallet because I'm starvin' this morning". Joking with him of course, I had full intentions of paying for breakfast. So we get inside, everyone orders, then everyone leaves the table but me and all a sudden I get this hot blast in my chest, just like someone kick me there.....it had hit me like a ton of bricks that I had left home without my Debit Card or my Dental Insurance card. $hit I thought, how are we going to pay for all this food we just ordered. When Tiffany came back from the table I let her know and she looked at me like "You're NOT serious"? Can you all pick this up and I get you the money back by going to the bank? Talk about doing stupid stuff and I thought i was being pretty organized yesterday morning. Anyway I thought it was a funny story.

Today I have a few baskets of folded clothes to put away. a watermelon to cut up, a kitchen to get back in shape, so I can fix diner tonite. Which will consist of Beef Tips over Rice, Buttered Broccoli, Applesauce and grilled Sourdough Bread. Sometime today I need to find time to pay bills. Not a fun chore because it leaves me with less Fun money! LOL Wink

**KAREN, Good to see you stopping in. As usual you are keeping very busy. If you keep cooking like this, you'll be having to replace your stove and oven. I get all nervous when you have to make food for "who knows how many people". Don't over work yourself and get down in the back. Any big vacations coming up?

**ANN, Will you bottle some of your energy for me? You keep going just like the Energizer Bunny. Well except when you work a 12 hr. day. I bet the Sunset was beautiful!

**FAN, Love the little baby chicks on the roof top. They be grown and gone before you know it. The Flower of course is Beautiful. Do you know what kind it is?

Well girls, I really need to go get started with my chores. It's 10:15 and Jim will be home for lunch soon. Gotta make him some Ice Tea. Hope everyone has a Beautiful day and remember I'm thinking about you. HUGS!

Well, I solved yesterdays luxury problem. My leftover pasta loaf is gone Laughing

Now I have to start brooding about tomorrows dinner Rolling Eyes . Got a bunch of leeks to work with.
Debbie, glad to have you back, be it with one tooth less. Smile Sounds like you've been as active as Gigi was with her reception. I had to chuckle about you leaving the house without Debit Card. Happens to me at least once a month Wink . Finding your self in front of the store for a big grocery run and realizing you've completely forgotten to take your card with you. Or trying to buy something that goes beyond your card's limit. Laughing
As far as the flower is concerned, I'm not sure but I take it for a kind of orchid.
The chicks are getting feathers on their wings, from now on they will become less and less fluffy.

I'll keep you posted on that.

Hey Y'all:

The rain has finally stopped & not a minute too soon. Bthh my ponds behind the house overflowed into each other & then started creeping up the yard toward the house. I'm guessing maybe 10' away. Our road is completely flooded up to my knees. Of course it has spilled into the front of our property. My neighbor called to tell me that a tree had fallen across our road this morning.
I see that Jim Cantore spent the day in Live Oak because all roads to Jacksonville were closed. All streets into Live Oak were blocked with school buses. All downtown is flooded & all businesses are closed. I live 4 1/2 miles outside town & our main rd. is closed off as well as Rt. 90 into town. They even shut down I-10.

The worst thing is that I'm out of bread I can making some & I don't have a cigarette to my name AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! Could someone fax me one?? Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Y'all take care...

I had a visit to the dentist today also. I thought my visit was bad, after the cleaning the last tooth the dentist checked he said "Uh oh, you have a big chip out of this filling." So close to making it out of there. dang. So now I have another appointment to get that replaced. I thought things were going so smoothly since hubby retired. Guess I didn't think about dental bills, etc. I have to go for a diagnostic mammogram and I am not sure if anyone will cover that or not. Medicare said they would help with a mammogram, but this is different. Not sure if it is better to be worrying about it, or making calls to see what I will owe. I hate seeing money drain away on things like this. Well enough of that.

**Karen, oh my goodness I can't even imagine making all of those pierogies. That is a heck of a lot of cooking you have been doing. It has got to be so hard not knowing how many will be attending. How is your garden doing? Do you ever have trouble with deer, like we are having?

**Ann, you have to have the cleanest house in PA!! I am still working on getting the dusting done. I just realized one reason why I think I enjoy sunsets so much, we never see any here at home, between hills and trees I don't think we ever get to see the sun set. I haven't had to pull a blanket over me at night yet, for some reason I am so hot at night the chilly air feels good. I am looking forward to another night with the windows open. It will end to soon and we will have the air on.

** Fan, the shape of that flower does look like an orchid. Those chicks sure are growing fast. They are so cute. Thanks for letting us see their progress. I would be scared to death to try to park along the canals like that. I think you always plate your food so deliciously. I just don't seem to have the patience for that.

**Debbie, you have been a busy one also. So sorry that they had to pull that tooth. I bet you are glad to be rid of the pain though. I have experienced your situation at the restaurant also. It really does put the fear into you doesn't it.
I want to get some beef tips to make kabobs I hope I can remember that when we go to the butcher shop. We really need to get to the grocery store, I couldn't think of anything to make for dinner so I ended up making a frozen pizza, I hated the way it looked though and dreaded eating it, as I went to pull mine out of the oven hubby said Ooooh that looks good, so he ate that and I had a PB&J.

**Nubbins, that sounds like a very scary situation in your area. Hmmm, guess you are quitting cigarettes whether you intended to or not. It is definitely not a good situation when Jim Cantore is in your town! Stay safe!

I made hubby a pan of brownies today with cookie dough on top. He said it was delicious. I will put the recipe over with the June recipes. I don't eat much chocolate so you will have to go by his review.

Debbie and Pattit, between all the cooking I also had a trip to the dentist. I'm getting a new crown on a molar.....the temporary hurt for a week. I still have to wait 2 more weeks for the new one. I was kinda upset at first because that tooth was already capped and I would have rather put the money towards another tooth, but my dentist didn't want to play around with a tooth that had nothing wrong with it.

Nubbins, you know you are in trouble when the weather channel is down the road. Like Pattit said, good time to quit smoking.

Ann, bring your cleaning crew down this way.....I'm so far behind, I will be doing spring cleaning in January of 2013.

Debbie, our garden is horrible this year. Danny got it in way late and our lettuce isn't even up yet. Forget the deer........his father's day gift was a pellet gun......between them and the rabbits we have nothing left. Plus no rain hasn't helped either. Our neighbor was out in her yard yesterday chasing a rabbit away from her flowers, Danny and her husband were cracking up.

Karen, we have a new animal deterrent, Gary said with the windows open the last few nights, any time he wakes up, he makes a loud noise out the window to scare animals away from the garden.
I thought the heat would put an end to our lettuce but I just looked out there this morning and it is still doing quite well. If you are growing leaf lettuce, it really takes off fast once it gets going, hubby was amazed, he said he bets if you sat and watched it you would see it growing. He is learning how hard gardening really is, he used to be of the thought that you put the garden in and then waited to harvest your bounty. Now he knows there is far more to it than that.
Right now I am quite disgusted at the way the Japanese beetles are ravaging the once beautiful roses. It is always something, huh.
