Hello everybody, have a smashing weekend Very Happy

Looks like I'm not the only one running late today Wink . Started out early this morning, wanted to do as much as I could before the heat kicked in. I managed fairly well, but around 11 am it was hot already. Needed to get out of the sun. And from that point on I fell to pieces, slept through the blistering heat on the couch and when I woke up 4 hours later the sun was gone and humidity had kicked in. Somehow I haven't been able to get into action again.
If the weather cooperates tomorrow I might go to the festivities in town. I still have to check the program, but there should be something going on.
Hope you all have a slightly cooler day with a lot of fun.

Hello, Fan, and everyone else that stops in. I have been busy the last few weeks,
We got our VA back pay and have been trying to get some things caught up. We went to a bank auction today for repo'd cars, Bought an 02 Ford Focus for $2200.00 and a small 97 Mazda pickup truck for $2000.00. So I think we did good today.
I got my tooth pulled the other day, Ended up costing me $165, for one tooth, called Affordable Dentists. Yeah right.
I hope you are all staying cool. It was 109 degrees in town at 1:30 today. I should have worn a hat and brought an umbrella. I have a bit of sunburn now.

We have been setting up every weekend at our music festival, but this week I decided not to go, after being out in this heat all day already, I think it would be too much on Jim. I don't think there will be very many people out in it anyway.
Good evening and I will talk to ya'll later.

Morning everyone,

It's 74º here already...but I am loving it, so much better than snow and the bitter cold. Hate being cooped up in the house all winter. Sad Confused

Grammadot - do you have a Dollar General close by? They have a Banana Boat Aloe cream that you can put on your sunburn. I've been doing it all week, feels so good to put on too. A friend told me to put in the fridge so I've been doing that, sure cools off the burn plus with it being so warm just plain feels good! Very Happy

Fan - while at work I checked here, no one had posted at 1:30. Everyone is enjoying their summer weather. Smile Smile There is a lot going on in Erie, they are celebrating Erie Days and Perry days (http://www.perry200.com/). Would like to go to a couple of the events but I'm not big on big crowds, so when they show it on the news I'll watch it then. Smile

First day of work went fast! Have lots to do this morning when I go in, plus I am learning a new job.

Take care,
Ann

Good morning everybody Very Happy

The weather is much better today, cooler but still sunny. More wind too, so it doesn't feel that muggy. Makes me feel more active too Wink .
Made my self a hearty leek and egg tartlet for breakfast this morning before leaving the house and see what was going on in town.

Checked out the small children's luna park first,

then the Curiosa market. Ann-Marie, you probably would have loved to spend some time at this stall Wink .

A rockshow in front of the City Hall,

new pyama's and mega size shirts Laughing Laughing ,

waffles and "stroopwafels" ...

and a dog waiting to be served. Smile

Ann-Marie, sounds great learning a new job. Have fun
Grammadot, if you don't have a Dollar General close by, plain natural yogurt works too.

Good morning friends. Not much going on for me today. Hubby and sons went to the PGA golf tournament. No spectators were allowed yesterday due to all the storm damage. I sure hope they have power. They have passes for air conditioned tents with drinks and finger foods. I would hate to thing of them not being able to escape the heat now and then. They were all so giddy this morning. They are meeting up with our nephew when they get down there.
Hubby got me awake at 5:30 and I just can't seem to get motivated. I did dust his bedroom. I need to get on the ball and make up some lists, people attending our picnic, things they are bringing, what I am making, what we need at the grocery store and the butcher shops. Luckily none of those require me to go outside. I do want to go out sometime today and see if the deer repellent worked or if they did some more feasting.

**Fan, looking forward to more pictures of the celebrations.
**Ann will you be doing a different job, or is this in addition to what you already do?
**Patti, sounds like you got some good deals on the vehicles. Good call on not setting up for the musical fest. Way to hot to be outside.

Fan, thanks for the beautiful pictures. Brings back memories of different festivals in Germany. I hope the doggie got a real special treat. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Morning girls. I am not too sunburned. just my shoulders and my face are a little redder than usual. Not sore at all. but thanks for the tips. I will have to remember that. We are getting ready to go to Cookeville for a few days. Jessica is having a 4th of july cookout on wed, so we need to go and help her with the yard and stuff, since we still have a lot of stuff there.
Here is a picture of our truck, we left the ford focus at Jeanna's house cause we didn't have a way to get all 3 vehicles back home yesterday. We should have brought our flatbed trailer, but I don't think he was thinking about buying 2 vehicles.

and here is my cute grandson John eating corn on the cob for the first time. He looks like he is enjoying it doesn't he.

Fan as usual I love your pictures. We should have a picture album to put our pictures in on here, so everyone can find all of them easily, You and Ann always have some gorgeous ones.

Wow, Grammadot! That car does look good. But I like your pic of the corn on the cob eater even better. He's adorable Very Happy
PattiT, what's this? The men fleeing the house leaving Mum with the dishes or in your case battling the deer??

Hello out there in the outside world:

Still flooded in with no idea when the road will be repaired. National Guard made it thru the flood waters today but almost not. They had a huge (tall) truck vehicle & they told us that up at the head of our road the water was up to the windshield BEFORE they dropped into the washout. We had another canoe delivery today, used my mower & neighbors small trailer to pick up the stuff. Will need to get....OMG it's raining...heavy

I can't write any more right now. Too upset.
