Hi everybody, what's cooking this weekend or it it all about the BBQ?
Since I don't have one, it's all in pots and pans for me. Today I made an apple and bell-pepper soup. Really yummy. Dished it up with some rillette [smoked trout and butter] on French bread.

Hey there:
Fan you cook things I have never heard of. It's interesting to see dishes made by folks in other countries. It's kind of like the ? do French cows still say moo??? I think every kid has wondered that one. I have not given a lot of thought to recipes in other countries. Yours always look so good I want to lick the screen.
See Ya...

Thanks Nubbins, this combo was new to me as well. Just couldn't resist trying.
A French cow seems to say moo, but I bet if you were to put a French and a Frisian cow in the same pasture they'd have language problems too
Have you ever thought of this one? A French, Italian and US combination

Hey there:
Funny, how about a Russian, US & Welsh cow. That might get interesting.
Funny the things kids think. We used to think the nuns had no feet or legs because with the long habits they wore you NEVER NEVER EVER saw their shoes. We didn't figure out how they walked. When I grew up 2 of my sis-in-laws were nuns. On a visit home they went swimming in my pool I felt like if I looked at them in bathing suits that I would get struck blind. Every time they came out of the pool I would run to them with a large towel. Like it wasn't bad enough to see their bare legs & feet .....then I noticed they had u know whats on their chests. At that point I was no more good....started laughing at myself & had to tell them what I was laughing about. After things settled down one of them said "we do this too" & passed gas-a big one. That finished off all of us & their mother was absolutely mortified. Totally changed the way I thought about nuns.
Was bored sunday & found a can of tomato sauce in the cupboard, dragged out macaroni, browned some ground beef - added a few seasonings & cooked everything in a skillet. Surprisingly it tasted pretty good. Will have to play with the recipe a little more seemed like something was missing.
See Ya,

Nubbins, that is a very funny story. I am glad that you didn't get struck blind. As an adult I found it strange that when in France they don't have "French" fries and that in Canada they don't have "Canadian" bacon. We were very curious when we saw pea meal on the menu in Canada. Oh, and bison in German is bison, ha ha. I ordered it thinking that was what they called beef. Turns out my one son and I love bison, who knew. _________________ Patti

Patti...Veeeeeerrrry interesting
I too like bison meat. As an animal they really stink. One ranch here has bison & with the windows down in the car you know you're getting close just by the smell.
See Ya,
