Goodmorning everybody, have a smashing humpday
Time for coffee with a cookie [morning break] at my office.
The cookies are as you may have guessed called "thumbs".
Got a wonderful sunny day over here, but as I walk to the office in the early mornings it's still cold and pitchblack. The first night frosts already kicked in, making the curly kale taste sweeter as some people say. Though not for me today, I have rice and chicken on the menu and sammies for lunch. Morning everybody --
Fan - your "thumb" cookie looks tasty. Is it like a shortbread?
Sitting here watching it rain down hard. That will bring the leaves down. Guess we are to get some high winds too.
Got the kitchen swept and scrubbed, next dust then move the furniture around and run the sweeper. Have my fast up-beat CD's in so buzzing right a long.
Hope everyone has a great day,

Hello everyone. Seems like the sun can't make up its mind today, it peeks out and then hides behind the clouds, I wish it would stay out, I feel so cold today. I hope to get caught up on e-mails and BakeSpace today. Things just keep coming up to keep me away from the computer. Madison came Sunday and spent the night so she could spend Columbus day with me. I always forget what a wreck she makes of my house, cleaning up took some time. Yesterday I changed all the bedding from summer to the nice cozy winter blankets and sheets. I did find some nice slacks the other day when my son James took me shopping. The wedding on Sat. is going to be at 5:30 and I think it will be outdoors, I am worried that I might need a coat. The reception is indoors so hopefully I can make it through the wedding with just a sweater. My niece is so beautiful that I can't even imagine how pretty she will be in her wedding gown.
I am very upset about the price of apple cider around here. $6.00 a gallon. I have a problem about it because our orchards had no problems this year and even reported that they have many more apples than usual.
Hubby is going to take me to finish up the last minute things for our wedding gifts. I need wrapping paper and a card and I think I am going to put all the gifts into a storage container since she had said that she needed some. I figured I could get those things at Target and then right next door is a Wegman's where I want to stock up on green beans. You just can't beat their prices on canned vegetables.
**Fan, that cookie looks very enticing. I am having rice and chicken today also, finally getting around to making the General Tso's chicken. Hubby had requested green chili enchiladas the other day so it took precedence.
I have never eaten kale, my daughter in law uses it a lot, especially in soups.
**Ann, we are hoping to get a drive in tomorrow to enjoy the fall leaves. You are really cleaning up a storm. I try to do a little every day but I still never seem to get caught up.
Sorry to cut this short but it is 1:30 and I haven't had anything to eat yet today. _________________ Patti

Ann-Marie, it is a shortbread cookie indeed. Fast up-beat CD , let me guess the "Who", "CCR" or "BTO"?
PattiT, happy to hear you did manage to find some nice slacks I already had a nightmare of you going in shorts and tees .
My chicken and rice became a fried rice with chicken, peanuts and veggies.

Fan - more like Guns & Roses, Tom Petty, Pink, & Lady Gaga. I do have "oldies" thrown in too.
PattiT - hope you get to see the leaves soon. We just had another hard rain, lots of leaves came down. Leo is sitting out by the deck doors watching them, no leaves get by him! LOL!!

Hi Everybody!
Fan - What a tease! Show us that cookie and not give us a recipe!! Your dinner looks yummy too. Can I just move to your house?
Ann - Crankin' the tunes, huh? Almost makes housekeeping sound like fun!
Pattit- Sounds like you're all ready for the wedding. I sure hope the weather warms up enough for it. I'm with you about the prices of apples and cider. How come the apple crop seems to be the only one effected? I didn't see any shortage of corn or squash or pumpkins or anything else.
I brought in the rest of my plants off the deck today. They are saying there is a chance of light frost tonight!! While I was at it, I dismantled my swing and put that away too. It's too chilly to be sitting out there any more. I have a big picture window in the basement, so I line up all my plants there during the cold weather and they can hibernate without freezing. Some, like the geraniums, will flower all winter long.
Hi to anybody else who might drop in............. _________________ -----Martha |
