Good Morning Everyone!

Jim should be home shortly - woohoo!! Poor guy hasn't been home since last Monday night. We have lots to do once he gets my car to the garage for an alignment and go to the bank. We are talking about running over to OH tonight to watch sunset. Would like to try to talk him into going to Presque Isle for a while this afternoon. They have been seeing a lot of birds...they are beginning to migrate - - would love to take some pictures. Smile

Hope everyone has a GREAT day! (I know I will! *big smile*)

Take care,
Ann Marie

Good Morning, Ann Marie and all to follow!

Summer has definitely returned to Michigan. We set records all over the state, 91 to 92 degrees with elevated humidity here in west Michigan. Wednesday or Thursday, we should return to seasonal temperatures. Tonight, I have a meeting. Tomorrow morning, my daughter and grandchildren stop by for a visit and lunch.

Ann Marie, you have a busy day planned. I'll be voting again soon.

Wishing everyone a lovely day,

Good morning everyone. It rained over night and is cloudy now so it is gloomy looking. I sure didn't want to get up. A dark day sure encourages one to be a slug. My very adult daughter says when I am not taking a university class I am a hippy deadbeat slug. Now her younger brother, also very much an adult, has taken up that same term. Then if my exam marks are low then they tell me that when they were in school they would not have dared to get low marks as they would not have heard the end of it. How do you live up to those expectations.

I woke up to 17 Celsius (in Canada of course) and our high is only supposed to be 15 Celsius. Guess the rain will cool us off from our very warm day yesterday.

I made gnocchi to go with pork chops for supper yesterday. My, I love my gnocchis. I make them so they nearly cook apart when boiling and as a result they are so soft. Most of the time when I eat them out anywhere they are like lumps and very heavy. Germans love their dumplings and this is just the Italian way of having dumplings IMO.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi Guys,

So as you know, we teamed up with Sara Lee and their site for our Grilling Newsletter. Three of their pros have joined BakeSpace - check them out! (See URLS below)

You may have already noticed a video in your BakeSpace kitchen - it's a video on grilling the perfect Hot dog. The folks at Sara Lee have several great videos on grilling and we thought we'd share them with you.

If you haven't checked out their other videos, please do.

What I like about these videos is that they aren't overly commercial - real pros giving real tips. When you get a chance, check out their site which features several more videos that include:

Yes, even grilling hot dogs takes technique.

For an appetizer or an entrée, these grilled recipes taste great any time.

Mix and match the perfect combo of foods for your party.

In your backyard or in the kitchen, grilled is the way to go.

Hi everbody. Jumping in for a quick minute -- seems that's all I have tonight!

AnneMarie -- I love your pics. I'll keep on voting!

Babette, Bakespace is the ever-growing place! It's such a great place to come.

Linda - Wargofive -- is that GIORGIO's restaurant that you were at for your party? It looks like it to me. My son and future DIL are getting married there in 13 months. I loved the pics you posted - what a beautiful family.

Marlene - I love gnocchi, but I agree. They are usually heavy little dough balls when you have them out somewhere. Maybe we can persuade you to post your recipe? Or maybe it's already there?

Vicki, though it was beautiful today, it wasn't 92. I'd love to have the heat back It's always so depressing for me when summer turns into fall. When the leaves come down, I'm miserable. I want to retire somewhere that the leaves stay on the tree all year round. With global warming, that might just be in NY in 15 years LOL!

Someone on TOH posted this link to an ebay auction -- read the seller's description of the item. It's hysterical - anyone who has a couple of kids and has taken them food shopping can relate. Here's the link to copy and paste:

To all who come after -- HI!!!

Enjoy the night ...

OMG - I'M CRYING!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the funniest thing I ever heard! As I was reading it to my husband, I was on the floor and he had to finish reading it to me. All I kept thinking about, besides the poor woman, was that THIS IS AN EBAY DESCRIPTION! Thanks for the great laugh. You made my night...........
