Morning,

Cool this morning, computer temp is showing 38º and it's really dark. Glad he is taking me to work this morning.

Had a nice day yesterday, did everything in here then went outside, felt good to be out in the sun. Smile Had quite the load of leaves, just used an old tarp to haul them down back.

Was going to bake cookies but my flour was too cold. So will do that Saturday if it's yucky out.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Take care,
Ann

Good Morning, Friends!

What a week... approximately 2:30 AM the power went out again, and was restored by 4:30 PM! Many people had it out even longer due to the big storms with high winds and small tornadoes. Was it ever cold! One positive: Hot water due to a gas water heater. Smile

This morning I made Karl a treat, a small amount of Dutch poffertjes, small pancakes. He has been doing extra yard work here and at his mother's home.

Ann - I hope you don't have severe storms today. What kind of cookies do you plan on making?

Good morning Ann and Vicki,
I went to the dentist and had to sit in there for a couple of hours yesterday. They ended up taking my top denture and having to redo the whole thing. I have to wait for them to ship it back, since they had to send it out some other place. The bottom is fitting a lot better, but I am still wearing my temps until I get the permanent top back. It doesn't fit well with the temp one.
We stopped and got Caliber back after we went to the grocery store. He is a job to take care of, but is a good baby most of the time. is grandma said that I could be a "baby breaker" because he has changed so much since Krys and I took him. She said that he doesn't pinch and pull hair like he was doing, and isn't throwing temper tantrums as often. He still doesn't talk where you can understand him but jabbers all of the time. He sounds like he is talking another language most of the time. LOL Jim loves playing with him.He has a new nickname for him "Gooby" He will hold his hand out to him and say "want some Gooby?' and he will just laugh and shake his head no. He can ask him over the phone and he will still do it.
Jeanna said that were going to have separation anxiety when we give him back for good. I think she is right. Luckily they only live about 20 miles away, so we can stop and see him a little more often. We didn't see him all that often before we started keeping him. Just a short visit every now and then, but he went right with us and is glad to see us when he comes back. Jessica and John are going to come and spend the night on Saturday so they can play together. Should be fun.
I hope you all have a good day. I guess I had better get some things done while Cal is taking a nap.

Good day everybody,

I'm freezing, temps have gone down considerably and I'm wearing a sweater and a winter coat already. Last night the southwest got her first batch of snow, luckily it melted away during the day.
Saw some lovely dressed up shop windows, Sinterklaas was waving at me Laughing .

Vicki, you've made my mouth water. Poffertjes yum. And you do have a real poffertjes pan, do you have speculaasplanken too? I saw some today.

Ann-Marie, our low this morning was 34F and for a high we had 40F. Spent three hours outside shopping for Sinterklaas gifts and was chilled to my bones.
Grammadot, sorry to hear about your dentures. Sure hope they do get fixed soon, so you can show us that irresistible smile again. You and Krys are obviously doing a very good job with Caliber Very Happy . Thumbs up.

Patti (gramma) - Ouch! That denture must hurt. Hoping the new denture top is correct.

Fan - Yes, I have wood and metal for speculaas. The wood is bigger than the smaller metal. Sounds like you are getting a touch of winter and snow like me.

Fan - I stopped at a local Dutch store with pictures of Sugar Bread and the size of the sugar pearls. They will check on purchasing the sugar pearls. Plus, they will go to a local Dutch bakery see what sugar they use. (This is Frisian, correct?) I hope to give Sugar Bread as gifts. Smile
