GOOD EVENING FRIENDS.....Setting here reading everyone's post, rubbing my cats belly. He loves to lay on the computer desk and get attention. He so big, sometimes I have a hard time moving the mouse around. To see a picture of him...he's my default picture on Myspace. Check him out! Well I had dinner all ready when Jim got home and had most of my chores done too. After dinner Ji took care of Kujo and I did up the dishes and then we headed for Sams for Tiffany. I stopped at the drug store to pick up a few things for the picture of the Thanksgiving Dinner table with Family and a sign that said Bakespace on it! Are you all going to post a picture. I hear Eric is going to post one of homself hassling the server at the resturant! Is that true Big guy? I think it'll be fun to see what kind of pictures everyone comes up with! Thanks for the fun idea Babette! You're always making things fun and interesting around here! We love you! I watched DWTS tonite, but won't say anything til later in case someone has Tivo'd it! Glad everyone like the recipe of Paula's and Tyler's I posted.....i know I'll definitely be trying them...maybe not for Thanksgiving, since the menu is already made out...but for Christmas for sure!

**TONi, Glad you gave a good review on Paula's Pumpkin Butter Gooey cake...I can hardly wait to try it. The Texas Sheet Cake will be done about noon tomorrow..so I might be able to share a piece with you if you stop by! Jim loves anything Chocolate and as far as cakes go it's Chocolate all the way!

**DDPIE, All great minds they say think alike. Was all your Chicken n'Rice Casserole eaten? There's only the 2 of us and we have enough left for lunch tomorrow! Yes, I watvhed the Bachelor yesterday and I guess we WILL discuss it tomorrow...just in case! You memtioned your girls have been doing thier own laundry since middle school...I almost had Tiffany do that, then I thought it would cost more for water usage, laundry detergent and so on. Now the guy she married...his Mom did that with her 3 kids...him being one of them and it was good that he knew how to sort and do it, because now he can help Tiffany too!

**MARLENE, Interesting Family History! I always wandered where you start with locating all that inf. My sister was supposed to do that for our family 20 years ago and I've never heard a word about it since. I wish I would have started it back when my Grandparents and both Parents were still alive

**GRAMMA, I made a note to get your info saved for the CCE when I get off here. It was fun last year! You did a really good job on your first cake. Are you having Fun?

**PATTI, OMG....My eyes hurt...ramble, ramble ramble........No not really, just kidding you. If anyone has dirreaha of the keyboard it's ME! You were abusy lady today. Sounds like alot of us got our chores done today, so we can spend all day tomorrw in the kitchen preparing for thanksgiving Dinner. Sinday when AR comes on ...There's one channel where 60 minutes runs late...if you turn it to the other channel that carries AR it'll be starting at the beginning of the race...or at least that's the way it is here. Check it out this comming Sunday!

**ERIC, There's a rumor going around that you are into Bubble baths, candles and a racey romance novel! Now if it was a Bubble bath for two, candles and a glass of chilled wine...that would sound alot better. It might even help relieve some tension! What do ya think?

Well, it's going on 11:30 and I have a few things to check out on-line before I go to bed. I'll chat with ya after I get my Texas Sheet Cake in the oven ! Have a good evening everyone. HUGS...Debbie

Hi Guys!

Where do I start.... there's so much here to reply to. I'll just let my hands to the typing - forgive me if I forget to mention who said what or who is talking about.

Eric - nice to hear that your new job is so far so good. I find it really interesting that so much of your life is in transition. I bet you're type of person that is all or nothing.. which is good. I always find that when change starts, I do something drastic to my hair. Not that impressive I know.

Toni - your daugher doesn't cook? Holy cow, say it isn't so? Well, that might change when she gets on her own completely - when she can't come home. I didn't know I was a foodie until 30!

Who else.. I forgot who said something about the pilgrim outfit... I'm sorry, it was early in the post. What a stressful moment when you read the paper and realized the date was tomorrow. It's so funny how kids forget to share this info with us.

Well... what else - I'm looking forward to the holiday card exchange. Should be fun. I'm also looking forward to seeing Eric's thanksgiving photo in the pantry in a few days.. I'm wondering what he'll do.

Everything else is good here.. we're busy with our rewrite. It's coming along. Smile

Tomorrow is my 6 year anniversary. Yeah! We're heading out to a great local resturant up in the hills. I can't wait. Last night we went to a place called Maku on South Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills and it was AWESOME! You guys would have been so proud. My culinary taste can be a bit bland, but last night I just went for it. It was one of those fixed priced meals where the chef just made what he wanted. If you live in the area or come out to LA to visit... you have to try the place.

OK, I better go. Look out for our Thanksgiving Leftovers Special Edition Newsletter tomorrow! There are several great recipes that will turn your boring leftovers into some tasty culinary treats.

Hello everyone.

I have been wanting to join the TOH board for a while now. I didn't have a computer at my new place so I couldn't devote the time that these threads require. But now I do Smile

A few of you are familiar with me. The rest of you I look forward to getting to know you. I am a few time zones behind most of you so I will take my time answering while you are all asleep LOL!

Take care everyone,

Thanks for the warm welcome Debbie.

I am originally from Kansas but found my way to Alaska a few years ago. It is more like home to me than Kansas ever was. So I would say it was meant to be! Alaska can be chilly but not so much where I am at. Seward is along the Gulf of Alaska. The ocean helps to moderate our climate. We get a lot of snow but the temps are nice enough that you can get out and enjoy snow activities without being miserable. I don't even wear a jacket most of the time in the winter, just a light polar fleece and I am all set. My son runs around in short sleeved shirts. The only jacket I wear is a wind/rain jacket. My heavy duty warm jacket has been sitting in my closet for 3 years straight Smile Now if you live in the interior such as Fairbanks that is another story. It is COLD there. 30-40 below is normal. 50-70 isn't all that unusual. No thanks, I think I will stay right here in Seward.

I work in the accounting/techie field during the day and then compusively bake in the evening. I am in the process of a divorce, oh joy. My son and I moved out of our log cabin to a condo in town by the waterfront a couple of months ago. The move has been good for both of us and we are starting to settle in nicely. My son turns 9 in December. He is a great kid and is going to get through this with flying colors.

Here is a pic

As far as time zones, we are in our own time zone (alaska standard time). It is one past pacific standard time. So we are 4 hours behind the east coast, 3 hours behind central, and so on. So I tend to hang out with online night owls Smile

Marlene- your family history sounds really interesting, thanks for sharing. I really wish we had someone in our family that had done all of the research. Now, both of my parents are gone, all of my grandparents are gone (I never even knew my great grandparents) My maternal grandmother was adopted, so that really bites, never knew any history there. Funny how you don't find these thing important until you start moving up in age and your kids get grown!

Patticakes...er um I mean grandmadotcom, nice job on the cake!!! Wow girl, you rocked out this class. I wish we had fondant classes here! I can't wait to see what all you come up with now, especially with your party place open...the possibilities are endless Smile keep sharing those photos

Moni- glad you wandered over here! Your son is soooo cute, omg, that pic looks like he could be in commercials or something. Hope your transitions have been smooth ones, divorce is tough on everyone. I like your new photo too!

Well, gonna go answer today's post, just thought I'd pop over here first and back track LOL

Monica, so glad that you decided to join us. Sounds like things are going good for you. I am glad. Your son is absolutely adorable. Glad to hear it is not extremely cold in your part of Alaska, it sounds like a wonderful place to live, especially if you like snow.

ddpie - I get that comment ALOT about my son. Seriously, like once a week. People have been telling me that since he was a baby. He is a good kid and I am afraid something like that would mess him up..

Patti - Thanks! Alaska is an awesome place. I fell madly in love on my first visit.
