The crazyness has begun at my house, trying to clean everything and getting everything ready for the big day......Thanksgiving. I think I am doing good so far, I made up a list so that hopefully I don't forget anything. I think for once all of my sons will be attending, hooray. Usually one is away and can't make it. I will be so happy if it works out this year. Hello to Debbie, Linda, Sheryl, Holly, Vicki and anyone else I may have forgotten. Sheryl, you are right about the grocery stores being a mad house. I hope I don't have to make an emergency run for something I have forgotten! Vicki, what a nice surprise, and one less thing to make way to go. Linda that Vegan graphic was funny. Well I better get back to my crazed cleaning! See ya later.

Hi Everyone
Well back from the hospital, what an eye opener of how the insurance companies rule the world. What they don't pay for is amazing. The very very best was when I went to donate my own blood, yes I said donate, they wanted to charge me $183.26 to do so. And then told me that if I didn't use the blood they would destroy it. I stood there with my mouth open, had her repeat it 3 times. Just couldn't fathom what she was saying, I kept saying I am donating not purchasing. There were a few other doozys, but that is for another time.
Having this operation is a very stressful time for me. I have put this operation off for many years. First because I was afraid, second was my DH lost his job on 9/11 and has never recovered. He works for a little over minimum wage now. He used to be an executive for Verizon. I don't get paid any benefits or disability for my job as I work part time. So essentially being out of work for 3 - 6 months is a hardship for us. But we finally decided that I had to have the operation. I know that there will out of pocket expenses, I can handle that over time. But the kicker today was the IRS.
They just audited us for 2004 and said we owed $4705.00
I had just gotten home from the hospital and had a melt down.
After speaking to our accountant I feel a lot better. But I feel that this is tip of the iceberg. Usually horrible and stupid things happen to us.
I have a best friend since middle school that the sun just shines on and I get so jealous of her. Things always go her way in a tragic event, not the case for me.
I guess I am depressed today, I appreciate you reading of my rant.
I am sorry maybe tomorrow will be a better day, but probably not.
Linda

Hi everyone! I'm sorry for being away. Things have just been so busy lately, but it doesn't mean I don't think of all of you. For the last 5 weeks, I have had a sick kid on Monday 4 times. As you all may know, Monday is housecleaning and grocery day. Having sick kids and having to go to the doctor on Mondays has put me behind lately.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!

Hugs, Kenna Lou

Linda W - I'm so sorry to hear how things are going. Vent as much as you need, we all need a shoulder to cry on from time to time. Just wish I could be there to give you a hug and my shoulder.

Patti - that's great that all or your boys will be there for Thanksgiving, I imagine you are happy about that.

Kenna Lou - nice to see your post. Like you, I was wondering why I'm only a Chef de Partie when I have 136 posts.

Aaahhh - I'm so glad I don't have to go back to work until next Monday!

Hello to ALL MY WONDERFUL TOH FRIENDS....What a day! DD called and this EARLY this morning and wanted to know if I would watch the boys while she and her cousin went to a funeral at 9:45 this morning. She said she was running late and didn't even have the boys feed or dressed. No problem ..bring them on over ..I can do that! Now mind you if I would have known that I was going to be up at 6:00, I would have went to bed way before 2:00 this morning!! Anyway things turned out and the boys were very good....i just couldn't get a few things done today that I planned on doing! Then when DD got back, which was !:30 this afternoon, we came back here to the computer . I had ask her to show me how to put graphics on my profile and on to trhis forum..like everyone else does. We found one and as you can tell from my 1st post today...it DID NOT work!! Anyway we went from here to her setting my up a MY SPACE acct.(which I've secertly been wanting one) After submitting all the info , then the fun part came of decorating with graphics and words and such. Had no problem adding graphucs there. So now I'm confused...why there but not here? We did manage to get a pic. of a monkey to come up..so now I'm a something, instead of an invisible chef! My head is reeling from eveything she showed me though..but I guess the more I play with it the easier it will become!

*****LINDAL. It's getting closer and closer...the Bonaire trip! I think it would be cuteif you do hold a sign that says "HI BAKESPACE". Thanks for asking about my MOM. She was released from the hospital today, but personnally I thuink she should have stayed. She's got so much wrong with her...they sent her home with 5 new meds.(that's along with the other 30 she takes) a diet to follow>>>1600 calories, she said I can't survive on that ...I told her that wasn't that bad No sugar, because of her diabetes(sp?) No salt, because of her congestive heart failure. She als takes 3 fludid pills daily for that. And she's going to be on steriods for awhile because of the phemonia(sp?) My MOM is not a very strong willed person(she use to be) and as she has gotten older and with my sister being killed in DEC. several years ago...she just seemed to give up on living. I told her one day...MOM you have 8 other children that need you and your love and attention. I was trying to give her something to live for ,but in my mind I was also missing the MOM I use to have. OH well, let's don't get me started on that or I'll start to cry! Sad Anyway I'll be thinking about you and your bonaire trip!

*****HOLLY, Hi , you are a woman of few words. I swear if we were taking in person, I'd think it was because I didn't let you get a word in edge wise. LOL Very Happy Hey I loved the cat graphic!!

*****VICKI, How are you today? Ready for Thanksgiving? I did finally get torst a little yesterday...thanks for asking. I feel bad that I can't do a lot of the things I use to do and if i let it I will become real bumbed out Sad , but i try to find some good in every day. At least I can still smile and chat with you guys!! And that makes me happy Very Happy

*****SHERYLE, OMG ...would that not be the most AWESOMEST thing if we could plan a little gettoget this coming year? I would have to bring my sexy husband, because I DON'T DRIVE! But you guys could bring yours too and we all have a BLAST!! I'm soooexcited..we will have to do this.
What recipe do you use for your CHEESEBALL?

*****PATTI, It still has you signed up as a guest.Did you see on yesterdays post where "BABETTE" said for you to cintact her and she would help you get things right for you. She put here site addy there for you. I should have cpoied and pasted it for here, but I didn't think about it. Sorry. How nice is that going to be for you to have all your sons home for the holidays! That is something to be THANKFUL for.

*****LINDA W, I wish I was ther to give you a great big hug and let you cry on my shoulder! ((( LINDA ))) I understand what you mean when you said things just seem to be mounting up on you. DH and I both worked for the same company and they transferred everyone who wanted to go to Charalotte NC. At the time we could not leave the area and we opt. to stay and leave the company. Before DH could find a half desent job (which paid less than 1/2 of what he was making) we had run through all our savings to to live month to month. ANnd of course, my disability got worse and so I couldn't go back out in the work force. ANnyway long story short...we went from making very good money the both of us to a lot less..at first couldn't even afford to eat out at a fast food place. That was 2000 and now we are doing a bit better and we just took it one day at a time and I keep saying to myself...GOD will watch over us and hee knows whar lies ahead for us. When one door is closed another is always opened! Did your account say you all didn't owe that 4700 dollars? You said you felt better after you talk to him. i'll keep you in my prayers that things stsrt to lookup for you and your DH ! Smile

*****KENNA LOU, Hey girl what's up? Busy, busy? Hope your youngin' is starting to feel better. I've been sick during the holidays and it's not fun.
On the left hand side under your name ..it says you have 136 posts, so you should be a "senior sous chef" Whatever that means.

Well, I have to get going. gotta go feed the fur-babies and throw some clothes in the dryer. DH is working out of town, probably won't be home until 8/9, so NO COOKING for me! If I missed saying hello to anyone that stopped in while I was typing.....HIand I hope you had a great day Smile
I might try to stop in later tonite..it's already 6:45pm EST. Hope everyone had a good dinner. Take care...Debbie
