Hi Dutchmom! Actually, now that we have the recipe of the day and top blog on the home page I was able to take them down from the featured chefs profiles... so what I do now is pick 20 people to feature so I can let them run a few days and I don't have to change them nightly.
It's funny, people are very particular with the featured chefs and wonder why I feature some folks that don't have any recipes. (This is a residual thought from a conversation I had in the tea room recently) ... Well, the answer is simple... I like variety. I like when you sign in and see a new face and you see someone new. That way those members get some face time so that other members can find them, invite them to be friends and start swapping recipes.
The beauty of BakeSpace is that you don't have to have a recipe to share to participate in our community. Some people have cool backgrounds on their profiles and they showcase what you can do with personalization and so on.... Some people have cool food photos.. some people themselves are cute (especially the boys) ... what ever the case is it's completely random and is supposed to be fun. After all, this is not the Culinary Academy of the World.. this is a a social network - that's also why there are people on the home page and not only images of food... we all know what a burger looks like right? I want to know what the people who make the burger look like and learn about them.
OK, did I just go off... hahahaha I just want you all to know that we think every member is "cool" and we want you to see more of them... so that's why we feature so many. Any questions?
OK. I'm going to go look up some recipes for Thanksgiving. I need to make a pecan pie -
Have a great Thanksgiving...
Oh wait - what do you think of the logo today? I'm not sure if I'm liking it...we'll have to find a cool image for next Thanksgiving. What about the winter holidays? What should we put up in the logo? A snowflake? Rounded images are always best.... think about it and let us know. I you find an image, send it to us...

I probably won't be able to get on the computer tomorrow, so I too would like to wish everyone a terrific Thanksgiving Day. I hope you all have lots of things to be thankful for, I know I do.
