Michele its great that you were able to start up a dinner club group. How many members do you currently?

Do you mean in Gourmet Gals? I didn't start it, I was brought in. There are 4 of us and we need two more.

My friend Lindsay started it. I saw her post on Craig's List right before I moved to NJ. She was also living in Morris Plains at the time. She left us though because she started her own business and has become very busy. Sad

I could help you get one started if you want me to!!!! It would be fun!

Hi everyone,

As most of you know I am part of a cooking group here in New Jersey. We have a lot of fun and it's something that I really enjoy. There are two available spots in our group and we would love to have them filled. We just recently had a member drop out because her schedule is very hectic and although she loves the group she can no longer commit. Maybe you know of someone who may be interested in a cooking group such as ours and you can forward this email or mention it to a friend. We would like to keep this to people that we know (or sort of know) rather than posting it on the internet. Let me tell you a bit about our group.

We are all young women in our mid to late 20's who love to cook and of course, love to eat good food. We meet one Saturday evening a month (except for certain months like December when it's just impossible to set aside the time). Each month we alternate who hosts and so therefore the member must have a dining area in their homes/apartment to accomodate 6 people. The host gets to chose a theme (and for fun we announce it through an evite) and makes a main dish and two sides that coincide with that theme. The theme can be anything she likes, her imagination is her only limit. Every member takes a turn making something to contribute to the dinner that conincides with the theme. The person who is hosting the next month will make an appetizer and the person who hosted the previous month will make a dessert. The rest will bring a bottle of wine. We've even had people bring an additional appetizer or a salad if they want to. After the dinner we share the recipes through email with the rest of the group. We have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. You don't need to be an expert cook to join you just have to be interested in cooking and food and commit your time once a month. The person shouldn't have food restrictions as that can make things difficult for other members.

So that's it. Oh and we don't all live super close to each other (but we are all in North Jersey) but since we only meet once a month we don't mind traveling a little if the person fits the group. Let me know if you have anyone who may be interested!
