Jeesh, it is soooooo cold and windy here today and then.............the power went out. I had decided if the temperature got below 60 in here I would go to my DS and DIL's house. The power came back on when it got to 61. Debbie, I just have a bad upper respiratory infection that the antibiotics are having trouble getting rid of. It has been going on for almost two months and I am feeling really run down. That is why I am glad that I didn't have to go to anyone's house, the Dr. said I am not contagious, but I hate to tempt fate and give it to anyone else. Sheryle, I got your card and very nice letter and recipe with the funny story. Thank you. Debbie, I spent a lot of the time in hospitals last year and it can be VERY depressing to be there for any length of time. I am sorry for your Mom not being able to spend the holidays at her own home. A sad place to spend your birthday too. I am glad you and DD are going to visit her today.

Good afternoon everyone! I'm so glad it's Friday! It has been so cold the last two days, but I hear it's supposed to warm up this weekend. It's hard to believe that a week ago it was warm and raining and yesterday it was below freezing and snowing...I'm getting some great cards and recipes from you all - it's nice to get something in the mail besides bills!
Holly - you're a woman of few words, but your graphics always make me smile!
Linda - how disappointing that the chandilier may not work after all of your searching. I understand going to parties to support friends - I've done that a lot, but that's what friends are for. You have got to be the busiest woman I know! Just don't over do it, you don't want to wear yourself out before your surgery. Stay well my friend.
Kenna Lou - I do have your mailing address and will get a card out to you this weekend.
Patti - I know it's hard to get to get things ready for Christmas when you don't feel well. I hope you can get your husband to help get your tree decorated. I'm glad you enjoyed the story about the recipe I sent - we all still laugh about it. Winter is not a good time of year to lose power, I'm sure it did get cold in your house. My house stays about 60 most of the time in the winter - I need to break down and get a new furnace!
Debbie - I hope you are feeling well today and that your foot isn't bothering you too much. I'm happy to hear your mother is getting better care and that they are keeping her a little longer. I know she hates to be in the hospital and rehab during her birthday and Christmas, but she needs to get well before she is sent home. Can someone arrange to have Christmas dinner with her? When my Mom was in the nursing home and the few times she couldn't get out for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I always arranged to eat the holiday meal with her and then visited her for several hours. I'm still thinking about and praying for your mother and wish her a happy birthday for me. I just thought of something, when she gets in rehab, would you send me her address? I would love to send her a Christmas card!
I had better go and get some dinner started.
