Can anyone join the BakeSpace Forums?
Yes, anyone in the BakeSpace community may join our forums. You don't have to register to read the posts, but you will have to register to post a message to the community.
But I already have a BakeSpace account.. why won't my username and password work in here?
We upgraded to the best program we could find for our forums and have plans to fully integrate them into our main site, but that takes time. You must register for the forums separately. Registering is easy and free. Simply click on the register link located under the header "BakeSpace.com Member Forums." If you have any questions about our forums, please email us at members[at]bakespace[dot]com.
I registered and now I'm waiting for approval.. why does it take so long?
Well, that's because we manually approve all accounts. It helps if you have a main bakespace account as well so we can test to see that you're part of the community. If you want us to speed up the process, send us an email to members[at]bakespace.com and we'll look into your account. Make sure you tell us your username.
LOG IN ISSUES:
I'm typing in my username and password from BakeSpace into the forums, but the forms won't log in me. What am I doing wrong?
In case you didn't read above: To understand how the forums works, you first have to understand that BakeSpace and the Forums are two completely different software. The reason we decided to use the new pantry software is because it's a much better program than what we could build at the time. We're working on combining the two sites.
What's the benefit to registering for the Forums?
You'll be able to post and easily see the latest posts because the cupcakes change colors.
How do I register for the Forums:
To register, click on the link at the top of the page that says "Register". You will then see a "Registration Agreement Terms" page. At the bottom of the page, you will see three links (you're over 13, you're under 13 and you do not agree).
If you click "Over 13" you will then be sent to a registration information page. Fill out all the boxes that have a (*) next to them. Unlike the main BakeSpace site where you use your email address to log in, for the forum you will use your Username to log in. The log in is case sensitive so keep a note of how your registered.
When you type in your confirmation code, you need to type it exactly as you see it (THIS IS CASE SENSITIVE).
Fill in all your profile preferences and click "Submit."
After you click submit and your account is active, you will see the following message: Thank you for registering. Your account has been created. You may now log in with your username and password. Click "Here" to return to the Index.
Click the link that reads "here". IMPORTANT: AT THIS TIME YOU ARE NOT LOGGED IN YET. YOU ARE JUST SENT TO THE MAIN INDEX PAGE. YOU WILL HAVE TO NOW LOG IN.
NOTE: If you clicked that you're under 13, you will be emailed a note that asks you to have your parents fax in a permission slip. In almost every instance, this is because of user error. If you are over 13, email us at email@example.com and send us your username. We'll reset your account and make it active.
HOW TO LOG IN:
To Log in, click on the "Log In" link at the top of the page. You will see a box that reads Username and Password. Type in your username (REMEMBER THIS IS CASE SENSITIVE) and your password for the forums. Check the box that reads "log me on automatically each visit." Click the Log In button.

Why do I keep getting logged out of the forums/main site?
That's a cookies issue.. we're working on it.
CHANGING YOUR FORUM PROFILE:
How do I access my Forum Profile?
Look for a link that says "Profile" above here, but below the main blue navigation tabs. You are now in the same area that you used to register your account. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see an area called "Avatar control panel." This where you can add a photo. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 10 KB.
If you can't figure out how to shrink your photo from your home computer, you can upload your photo on to the main BakeSpace site through the photo link in your edit profile page. Once you do, right click on the photo to get the photo URL. Copy the URL and paste it in the box that reads "Link to off-site Avatar."
Make sure you click SUBMIT whenever you make a change to your Forum profile.
I posted a comment and now it's deleted, what's up with that?
All postings are reviewed by BakeSpace and are deleted if any post contains the following:
1) Derogatory statements about another member (This is absolutely unacceptable and lacks social grace).
3) Derogatory statements about a religion, This is spam. Please don't click., race or other fraction BakeSpace deems is inappropriate for our cooking forum.
4) All posts are subject to pruning anytime BakeSpace deems appropriate.
5) Posts that too commercial (if you'd like to advertise contact advertising[at]bakespace[dot]com).
BakeSpace does not have to notify the poster if their posts has been deleted and has the right to ban the poster's IP address from participating in our community without warning.
I registered on the forums and now my account has been deleted, what's up with that?
How can I get BakeSpace to delete a post?
Email us at members[at]bakespace.com and we will look into whether or not the post should be deleted.
I think there's a Troll on the Pantry. How can I get them removed from our pantry?
Copy their posts into a word document and send the document to admin[at]bakespace.com. Put TROLL in the subject line.
