Lol, its almost 5 here. Well, 3:45 is sorta almost 5... but I don't have any money so I need to wait for the girlie to get home. Then I'm going to grab a bottle of wine, some JD and start cooking. And have a nip or 3. _________________ Cooking Stuff

Funny you guys would be having this discussion! I just came back from the liquor store! And it's so funny.... I was looking at all that stuff you were talking about and wondering what it was! Like that MD 20/20... it comes in several flavors... I thought it was some kind of liqueur or something (??)
I didn't discover alcohol until later in life (we did other things in the 60's!) so I'm totally uneducated as to wine. But if I find one I like, then I really LIKE it.
I think I like wine that is kind of sweet- but is it un-cool to like it if it tastes like grapes? I hate Arbor Mist, that's too sweet. I had one last week that was called Ipacas made by a local NY State winery.. ever heard of that? We have so many wineries here that when I go tasting I get so smashed that everything tastes good and I come home with 15-20 bottles that disappoint me when I finally open them.
I'm trying to learn how to appreciate a good wine and be able to pick one. You guys have been a big help so far. Keep the discussion going!

Well, I'm sitting here with an orange juice and malibu - I don't think I can come up w/ a wine all by myself! I need direction! I hope Pat comes home soon... (not just so she can choose a wine for me of course, I do miss her too!) _________________ -Joy

Martha: Don't worry about being "cool" with your wine tastes. Like what you like. I'm actually drinking a wine right now that tastes a good bit like grapes. Not as much as the one I drank back in the day... but still. Like grapes.
The whole thing, in my opinion, is to enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it it doesn't matter what other people think, don't bother with it. If you do, who cares? Enjoy it! _________________ Cooking Stuff

Ohhh - you know what? I have a can of pineapple in the cupboard too! I could pretend I'm opening it for Maggie's lunch tomorrow...no one would notice if the juice from the can isn't there in the morning! LOL _________________ -Joy

Go for it Joy! Of course, my advice might not be so good, I've finished the bottle of wine I bought for "tasting"... _________________ Cooking Stuff
