Good morning everybody, have a smashing day Very Happy

The weather is awesome, sunny and warm. I think we may skip Spring and start Summer Wink The bees are at work already.

Debbie, yesterdays tree was a sallow with catkins. And the vegetarian thing didn't work out, cause the chicken wings were on discount. It became wilted spinach with olives and onions and chicken wings from the oven Laughing Is your leg any better today?

PattiT, take care of your self too. Don't overdo things.
Gotta go back to my duties, TTYL.

Good afternoon!

Well it isn’t as nice today as it was yesterday. Yesterday was beautiful – warm and sunny, today isn’t.

We had a busy day yesterday. I didn’t sleep very well the night before and had to get up at 6:00 AM yesterday so we could leave for Oxford/Hamilton by 7:30. Since I had a hard time getting to sleep, when I did finally get to sleep, I was sleeping so soundly that I didn’t hear my alarm go off until it was five after….Michael had already gotten up and was in the bathroom and I didn’t hear him get up either, which is unusual. We did manage to hit the road before 7:30 and by 2:30, after my two doctors’ appointments, picking up sister #1 and grabbing a quick lunch at McDonald’s and taking her back to work, stopping by the shop where I get my hair done and rescheduling my appointment, picking up mail and checking on my house, we were headed back to Columbus. We got back here by about 4:30 and stopped by Culver’s for an early dinner…..I had two coupons for a free fish sandwich and $1 off one of their dinners that I won on Facebook so we used those. Can’t believe we had fish for lunch and dinner, we had fish sandwiches at McDonald’s too. Needless to say by the time we went to bed last night we were both very tired…..I was trying to watch the news and only saw about five minutes of it. I even slept all the way through until about 7:00 this morning.

I’m all set for my cataract surgery. I had my eyes measured and talked to my doctor about what kind of lens he was going to put in. Then talked to one of his assistants who gave me some eye drops and prescriptions for more eye drops that I’m supposed to use before and after surgery, she told me where I was supposed to go for the surgery and what it was going to cost. I paid my deductible which covered the cost of my first surgery. I don’t know the time of my surgery and won’t until a day or two before (don’t understand why they can’t tell you) but I will have my first surgery on March 27. After talking to my family doctor yesterday afternoon, I feel a little better. He told me that it was an easy surgery and he, by the way, goes to the same ophthalmologist and said good things about him. Even though I’ve always liked him, it’s nice to know another doctor does too. My lab results were all good. Other than my glucose being a little high (I can lower that by watching what I eat and getting more exercise) and having put on about 30 pounds since I’ve retired, I’m in pretty good health.

We’re staying in today….I made a big breakfast then put a chicken in the slow cooker to have later. I’m thinking about making some bread pudding a little later today. I have to go through my mail but am putting that off….seems like every time I go through my mail, I have disturbing news from my mortgage and insurance companies. Not sure I’m up to dealing with that today.

Fan – your chicken wings look delicious!

I better get off this computer and get started going through my mail….hope I don’t find any upsetting surprises. I’ll try to check back in later to see what you’ve all been up too.

Have a great day!

HELLO FAN AND OTHERS......Tiffany just left she came by to give the house a Hit n' Miss! My Niece form Virginia and her daughter were with her along with Avayah and a little boy that she watches. I kinda glad they didn't stay too long, as I wasn't in a good enough mood for company!

Another sleepless nite, because of my leg. I told Jim sometime I feel like going out to the kitchen and getting a big knife and chopping the durn thing off, it hurts that bad! Hopefully I can get time to lay down and put the Wedge under my legs and get them elevate and maybe get a nap while I'm laying there.

Tonite is the nite when all the girls are meeting for dinner and I told Tiffany I'd let her know by 4 if I was going. It just depends on my legs, how painful they are.

Today is NOT quite as pretty as yesterday was. A little over cast and in the low 70's. We've already had one pretty good storm and due for more throughout the day, evening and tomorrow too. Oh well the new spring buds need the water and so does the grass. Cody is already asking when will it be time to mow.

**FAN, Love your pics. They always make me smile! That looks like a little Grape Hyacinth, is it? Yea, the Bees are getting a good start already. I love nature. So much about it makes one feel happy to be alive! Hey, glad you got you some Chicken Wings, as usual everything looks tastey!

Well, I need to make my way to my E-Mails and get it cleaned out. Most of it id deletable, so I'll just high-lite it and hit delete and gone it'll be. Somewhere in all the junk is Ann's Sunset pics. I want to check those out today too. TTYL! HUGS

Hi Sheryle, I missed you when you stopped in...guess I was typing away. I jotted down the date to your surgery so I wouldn't forget.

The skies are getting black, I suspect another storm is coming.

OMG, I so want to come to your house for Dessert! I love Bread Pudding! No One in my family likes it, so I hardly ever get a chance to eat it. What time should I be there? LOL Are you making that chicken in the slow cooker that Ann was talking about?

Well I need to go get a nap, I have dozed off several times and made several typing errors on this....all that tells me I need sleep! I'll be talking to ya...HUGS!

Carolyn, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Shocked and your hubby. Gossiping neighbours? I should be going over there for a couple of months and really give them something to gossip about, I guess. Wink
Nubbins, that is expensive. Poor Rosie Sad
Debbie, sorry to hear your leg still isn't very cooperative. Hopefully you will be able to go out with the girls for dinner.
Cookiebakr, glad your Doctor was able to settle you down a bit for the surgery. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well.

Hi Everybody!
It's another beautiful day in Upstate New York! There was a rain storm (with thunder, no less!) but it was like a soft spring shower and just wet everything down. It was all over in 30-40 minutes. Now the sun is shining and it's 70° !!!

Yesterday Jim came over and woke me up for breakfast and then we went over to my daughter's house to do some electrical work she's been after him to do. (He was an electrician before he was a cop. Wink ) Had to re-wire some outlets and switches in her kitchen. And he fixed her broken storm door on his way out. He's such a good boy... I think I'll keep him!

Speaking of my daughter... she has another guy interested in buying her "old" house. This one is a roofer, so he's not bothered by the problem with the roof as long as she takes something off the price! No problem Smile as long as she gets rid of the place before it falls apart!

Carolyn - I don't think anybody likes those darn MRI's... but they sure are a God send. I hope everything turns out OK and your husband's test too. Just keep thinking about the flowers and birds that are coming soon. I wish I could hang out my laundry like you and Fan. It's been a long time since I've done that! Go ahead and iron on the porch.... give the neighbors something to gossip about (they must be really starved for gossip where you are!!)

Fan - Thanks again for the photos. I think you are actually curing me of my "bug phobia"! When I see them up close like your pictures... they are actually kind of interesting and (even) beautiful.

Sheryle - Glad you are feeling better. Your post sounds like the old Cookiebaker we know and love! (Running around doing this and that, shopping, cooking, baking....) Sounds like you're all ready for your surgery. Now stop worrying about it. It will go fine.

Debbie- There will be no chopping off of body parts... do you hear me!! Besides, if you take off one part... something else will just start bothering you. I think you need to go back to the doctor and tell him how you are feeling. There HAS to be something that will make you feel better. I'm from the "better-living-through-chemistry" generation.... but I really believe it. The doctor just has to find what you need and prescribe it.

Nubbins - Rosie is getting the full spa treatment, huh? Fur babies are almost as expensive as real kids sometimes. But what can you do, right?
Enjoy your nice weather!

Hi to anybody else who might drop in....is there anybody else??
