Morning everyone,

It took us from 9 AM til 6:30 last night to clean the basement. Shocked A lot of stuff to move around down there. Found a few things to take up to Thrifty Shopper. Plus we had to make a trip to Walmart for a new shop-vac filter then we came home and ate lunch. I'll tell ya, my body ached last night, took a long hot bubble bath. Still a little sore this morning but at least I can move around without a twinge of pain.

Pat/nubs - do you have a raft among your things??? Oh, Jim took a picture of a cigarette for you, told me to send it to you. Very Happy Such a goof.

Debbie
- ugh, dentist...I need to go too, have two teeth I really need fixed. One tooth on the bottom has chipped and the top there must be a cavity, once in a while it really aches/throbs. Rolling Eyes Told Jim within the next five years I will probably have all my teeth pulled, get tired of them hurting all the time.

PattiT - glad I can share my sunsets with you since you don't get to see them.

Fan - what kind of birds were those again?? Those are the coots are they?

Going to take it easy today, Jim needs to wipe the steps leading down to the basement then I think I'll clean out the car. When we all went to the beach I think I brought half of it home with me! Smile Need to take that stuff up to Thrifty Shopper too.

Hope everyone has an awesome day!
Ann

Ann, you silly girl, that is your idea of taking it easy?? Cleaning out the car etc. Glad that you are not overly sore today. You will soon need a break from your vacation so that you can truly rest up a bit. Besides, if you finished all you cleaning up, we could have more pictures of all the beautiful things that you find on your travels. I have a feeling that you are like me, and feel so much better knowing that everything is clean and in it's place.

Today my SIL took off work to take me to the movies!! She is taking a half day of vacation so her and I can go out to lunch and then to see the movie Rock Of Ages, her and I were really into that music back then so I was hoping her and I would enjoy it. I had mentioned it even before it had come out, weeks ago, if not months. I didn't give it another thought until she called and told me about taking off work. She is thoughtful almost to a fault sometimes. If someone mentions something they saw and thought they would like, she will file that away in her memory and very soon that person will get it. Gary and I try to do special things for her because half the people she does nice things for don't really appreciate it.

Tomorrow is my mammogram, then grocery shopping, then Madison has a home meet. (Swimming) Speaking of her, that little sweetie, I just noticed this morning that she had left us a note on her bulletin board that says "Bye, I will miss you."

What does everyone else have planned for today?

Morning Everyone,

Taking a little brake from getting ready for the reception today. I'll meet the girls for breakfast and then go over to a Sabika Jewelry sale they are having. I had a home party in February and they invite you to go the first day of the sale. I hear it is wild. Hope I don't get trampled for a pair of earrings. Rolling Eyes

Ann, now you have moved to cleaning outside....where will you stop??

PattiT - will have to go back to work to get rested!! Laughing

Karen - since I didn't get to it last year, really wanted to get it done this year and with Jim home, that helps.

Pat/nubs - Jim Cantore is talking live right now from your area. He was showing around and they showed a sign "129" going through the town. How sad!!! 8 feet of water in the middle of town. Shocked Shocked

Nubbins, I'm worried about you. No bread, no fags and wet feet. How are you going to be rescued if you can't light up a fag in the dark?
Ann-Marie, these "little" chicks are seagulls. They are almost as tall as their parents by now.

Are you sure you are well rested when you have to go back on Saturday? Wink
PattiT, have fun at the movies. No plans for today anymore apart from the newspaper, it's almost leaving the office hour Very Happy . Tomorrow I'll be working out of the office attending a meeting of all university recordsmanagers.
Gigi, you'd really surprise me if you even allow them to trample you. Please, stand your ground and bring those beauties home Laughing
Better finish of my files for now, TTYL

Hi Everybody!

Today was beautiful! High 70's and a nice breeze. I watered all the flowers on the deck. The zinnias and cosmos that I planted from seed are about 3" tall already!

Ann - So the whole house has been cleaned top to bottom! That must feel good. Now you two need to go out and have some fun while the weather is nice!

AAAargh! It is taking me forever to type this because yesterday my kitty (the little one) head bunted a full glass of gin & tonic and it spilled all over the keyboard! I tried to clean it up quick, but now the space bar sticks. Any suggestions on how to clean it, or do I have to buy a new keyboard?

Fan - Your sea gulls are really growing fast! I can't believe they are almost as big as their Momma already!

Karen - Glad you decided to take some time off from your baking to go a jewelry sale. You don't come across those sales very often. Show us what you bought.

Pattit - What a nice sister-in-law you have! So, what did you think of the movie? I used to be really into the music scene when I lived in NYC during the 60's & 70's. My Hubby was even in a rock band. Boy! That seems like a lifetime ago!!

Nubbins - How are you holding up? Did the rain stop yet? Keep us posted!

Hey Y'all:

Fan-I did get some fags late this afternoon. Neighbors daughter had about 5 in a pack that had been in her car for a month. At least I'm not having a nicotine fit anymore.

My neighbor with the horse, 2 donkeys & pig called our local animal shelter & explained we can't get out down here so she ordered what feed she needed to get her thru the next few days & they picked it up & brought it to our road.
When they got here & saw how the road was flooded they called for an airboat to deliver as close to us as they could get. Really cool. Sections of the road have drained but where there is standing water no one knows how deep it is. I fired up Big Blue to meet the airboat but unfortunately hit a soft spot on the road & got stuck. I'll just leave it there until things dry out a bit more & either pull it out myself or call AAA to pull it out & bring back in the yard.

My neighbor on the other side of me ended up going to the the boat & getting the feed. The worst part of this section of road is in front of my driveway. I almost made it out. Hoping the upper end of the road has less water on it today so I can get out to the store. I am baking another loaf of bread but we are down to hamburgers & hot dogs. I may end up having to go to Lake City to shop. If our downtown is still flooded they won't be allowed to open the stores again & I can't get to walmart without going right past where Jim Cantore was standing all day.

My ponds have gone down a little also.

Thank goodness it stopped raining yesterday evening. Another night of heavy rain would have brought the level up so high in the ponds it would have gone under the house. I think they are calling for more rain over the weekend but if it holds out till Sat. afternoon I thing I will be OK. The toilets are flushing a little better but we are still practicing the California mantra---if it's yellow...let it mellow...if it's brown...flush it down. Have told my GS that if it's going to be yellow step outside & pick a bush that likes acid soil.

Martha---you can carefully take the keyboard apart by turning it upside down & removing the screws. Use q-tips to get in the small places----use only rubbing alcohol on the board & keys. Water will damage the board but alcohol dries quickly enough to cause damage. After cleaning let it sit open for a few minutes so everything is dry then put it back together. I have had to do that a few times myself, works great. Hey ... were your keys staggering? Laughing

Ann--Thank Jim for the cigarette-it held me over for a few hours. Wink
He is sooooo silly. Laughing

Unfortunately the only boat we have here is the big fishing boat. Won't work here on the road it has a deep vee hull for open water fishing.

I did figure on keeping my eye on it & if it started floating off the trailer I would have to get on board & drop the anchor. Laughing Laughing

Well I will keep y'all posted on conditions here at Dogpatch FLA...

Take care Y'all...
