Morning everyone,

Not much new. Spring cleaned the big bedroom yesterday, so now all the upstairs are done. Would like to start the basement but think I'll wait til vacation...that will take all day, moving stuff around.

Rather warm and humid, loving it...hate being cold. Smile Ran the AC last night, even the kitties came in and enjoyed the coolness. Smile

Jim is out and looking into a couple of jobs, close to home so he can walk if needed.

Hope everyone has an awesome day!
Ann

Hey Y'all:

A few years ago I purchased som vitamin type supplements from an ad I saw on tv. They worked & I had no complaints. About 3 years ago I received notification of a class action suit against the company..nothing to fill out was entered simply by purchase on their records. Yesterday I received a settlement check in the mail for just under $300.00. As I read the info on attached letter I discovered that the same company mfg. Enzyte (the male enhancer). That is what the class action suit was about. Gee I received money for something I hadn't even bought. They must have just pulled all their sales record for the payout. Shocked Accessed the suit on line & discovered the courts ordered exactly that. They'll get no argument from me so I deposited the check this morning. Windfall!!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Y'all take care...

Nubbins, my day can't beat yours yet. Laughing . Congrats, you deserve a bit of luck this time after all you have been through lately.
Ann-Marie, we had a wonderful sunny and warm day today,

but it seems we have to pay for it tomorrow. A big thunderstorm is under way and will hit us tomorrow around noon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Jim.

Still hectic at the office and the boss is preparing for his holiday coming up. I think he's going to ask the seagull chickens to keep an eye on us, since I pictured them practising their supervisory skills this morning Wink Laughing

Carolyn, how are you in Grand Rapids? Once upon a time two sisters of my great great grandfather migrated to Grand Rapids. There still may be some of their offspring running loose over there Smile Take care not to run into them.

Managed to make a dinner tonight using Basmati rice, fava beans and a lot of herbs, cause I ran out of Pandan rice.

Dished it up with real delicious Köfte [minced meat patties] from the Turkish butcher. But now I'm still left with the dishes Evil or Very Mad, I'd better get that out of the way now.
See you all tomorrow and have a smashing rest of the day Very Happy

Good Afternoon, Friends!

Another potluck is just around the corner. I have to bring a salad or dessert... leaning towards a salad. Now, my next decision: fruit salad or vegetable salad? Smile

And, our next couple's dinner will include a "sundae night." Each couple bringing one or two toppings. Definitely a diet splurge. Yikes!!

Still pondering kitchen colors My mom gave me another idea. With my small kitchen, she suggested to paint all the white and blue one color to make it look larger. Another possibility??

Ann - Hoping Jim's job search goes well.

Pat - Congratulations on your windfall!

Fan - Your pictures are so vibrant, and your dinner looks mouthwatering. Any chance you'll come to Grand Rapids to meet your relatives?

Have a nice evening!
~~Vicki

hello ladies. We finally got some good news for a change, Jim got approved for his VA benefits, 100% Yeah. That is around 3 times more than what we get now. Plus they will pay the from the time he filed for it. We should be getting it within 2 weeks. Then we can get some things done on the house that we haven't had the money for lately.
I have to go to the dr tomorrow and then I am going to call our lawyer for the accident settlement and tell them we are done with the drs and to finish up the deal. This waiting is crazy.
I hope you all have a good day.

Hi Everybody!
It's 92° out and it's almost 7:00 in the evening!! That's unheard of in upstate New York! I went over to my Mother's apt just to make sure she had the air conditioning on...she didn't! So I showed her again how to adjust it again. Rolling Eyes

Nubbins - Yay! Found money!! Don't you love it?

Grammadot - and your hubby got his VA benefits!! Yay! What a load off your mind, huh?

Speaking of money falling out of the skies.... The insurance adjuster called today and said they will cover the whole cost of a new roof on my daughter's old house!!! Once we get that done, hopefully we can get it sold.

Fan - Love the looks of your dinner, as usual. Are "minced meat patties" anything like our hamburger meat? I'm thinking probably not, since it came from a Turkish butcher. What kind of meat is it? Those little sea gulls are sure "ugly ducklings" at that age, aren't they? Around here, sea gulls are referred to as "wind rats" and they spend most of their time McDonald's parking lots rather than on any body of water!

Ann - Would you stop with your spring cleaning already! It's too warm for that and you already work too hard on your job!

Vicki - I love an all white kitchen. (Mine isn't) For your potluck... a fruit salad is always so refreshing this time of year. Your "Sundae Night" sounds yummy! What a great idea.
