Morning,

Seems to be a bit cooler this morning, which feels good after all those hot humid days. Suppose to get t-storms tonight into tomorrow.

Fan - yesterday morning we took the car to the garage, he couldn't really do anything since the car wasn't do anything wrong, he had to hear or see it. So we took it down to the auto parts store and they do a free test on the battery, alternator and starter. She said the alternator & starter were fine, it was the battery that was giving us problems. Bought a new batter so hope that was the $100 fix!

Debbie - Jim was more impressed with the bakery job then he was with the telemarketing job. Mom & Benji are doing fine, they walk in the early morning then if he needs to go out during the day she walks under the pine trees for shade. Benji is getting old so he doesn't go as far as he use to, especially in this heat, which I am glad, neither of them need to be out in it.

Martha - my car is also a 2003, but we've had so much work done to it would hate to see it die on me now! Shocked Evil or Very Mad It's a good car, never had a problem with it in winter...actually only once and it was on ice so I don't blame the car. Got stuck on a hill that was covered in ice (had to stop for a fender bender & a red light), thankfully a nice man came a long and pushed me up the hill with his plow. Made a few marks on my bumper but I didn't care.

Off today, not doing much either, didn't sleep all that great last night. Believe it or not I was freezing from the AC at work, covered up with a sheet and blanket when I went to bed, woke up sweating. Rolling Eyes Opened the window and ended up shutting it because the bats were making terrible noises and landing on the screen. Confused Mad Crazy things.

Going to get around here, Mom wanted me to call her today. Oh! She went to the leg specialist the other day, he said one leg is doing good, the other not so good. Sad If it goes above a certain number she will be getting surgery again, she wasn't too thrilled with that news.

Take care,
Ann

Good morning Ann and all my other friends that stop in today. I put some chicken and carrots in the slow cooker with spices and a bottle of wheat beer, I figured it would be a little difficult getting dinner ready with no water available so I tried to do everything I could think of ahead of time.

It is hot and muggy out there already. I watered my hanging plants and the one plant that we had to dig up for the repairs. Wouldn't you know, now they are going to take a different route and wont be going through the flower bed, he said he would replant my plant before he leaves. The route he will be taking now, wont be near the gas lines, I am very happy about that. There is a roar of the backhoe out there. Wish me luck girls.
**Ann, glad you found your car's problem and it wasn't too terribly expensive although any unexpected expense is not a happy occasion. I sure hope you Mom wont have to go through another operation on her leg.
What kind of job would Jim be doing if he got the baker job?
We have bats around here but I have never had one fly into the screen. That would sure scare me when I was asleep.

**Fan, I think that the sea gull was delivering your lunch. Poor guy, I guess no one let him in. I guess it would be a little hard for your painter to do his job in the rain, I bet you are ready for it all to be done though. What delicious meals have you been making, I miss the pictures.

**Debbie, I knew those kids would be talking a mile a minute trying to tell you about their vacation. Oh, and I know quite well how kids never forget things! Do they have a movie in mind that they want to see?
I sure hope that they do not send Jim out of town for a week, I sure would not like the idea of your being there alone for that long.
I hope the kids were good for you when you babysat.
Debbie, the leak is in the water pipe, they were just making sure where the gas and utility lines were so they wouldn't hit when they were digging.

**Martha, 101 in Rochester, that had to be a different experience for you all. My neighbor has Rose of Sharon bushes that have a lot of shoots, he is lucky the deer seem to prefer my garden, they don't seem to be bothering his plants. We got a thunderstorm in the afternoon, it cooled it off 20 degrees, but of course it went back up. We could use a good soaking rain also, everyone's lawns are brown and crispy. With our leak I haven't watered our garden for a while, I hope it will make it until I can water it.

I hear the workers making up a plan out there. I swear, to me that backhoe is like hearing the dentist drill, I am cringing every time I hear it tearing something up.
I was on the phone this morning trying to clear up insurance problems. I also had to call the gastroenterologist office. I think I am overdue for my colonoscopy, fun! I am supposed to go every 5 years and the receptionist said she thinks the last time I had one done was in 1995! I am trying to get Gary and I one at the same time or close, that way we will only need a driver once. I figure if we both do it together hubby will be more likely to go, he is 7 years overdue!! I am sure that was too much information, I will quite boring you all.
I will check back later to see what all my friends are up to.

Good Morning Ann & Others.....Oh my am I ever tired! The kids wanted to spend the nite last nite, so they have been here since early yesterday and I really wasn't prepared for long a visit...but couldn't say No! Anyway they were all good last nite, wanted a snack 5 mins after they finished dinner....no way, you'll get a bedtime snack. I DID NOT sleep any last nite, both my legs felt like they were filled with concrete and the pain was terrible, plus I was up and down going to the bathroom....there was a few times I did not make it Embarassed Got up this morning a put some Bacon in the oven and fried some eggs, made toast and some Choc. milk and then cleaned up the kitchen. I even fixed an extra pound of Bacon for Jim and my dinner tonite...we are having BLT's and Fries! Tiffany called and said she'd be here by Noon, so we'll do some Chicken Salad sandwiches , then when they leave, this girl is taking a nap!!

**ANN, Enjoy your day off. There's nothing wrong with doing nothing, especially when you work so hard. Good luck to Jim for looking for work. Glad there was nothing seriously wrong with your car.

Well, I'm off here, going to check the kids bedroom, I ask them earlier to clean it up before their Mom gets here. Have a good day. HUGS!

Hi PATTI, You and I must have been typing at the same time. Sorry I missed you. Glad it was the Water and NOT the Gas...makes me feel better for your safety. They should have all the back hoeing done today. Your dinner sounds really good too...I need to use my crock pot more often. The kids haven't mentioned what movie they wanted to watch.....there are a few children movies out now.....it'll be one of them. The kids behave wonderful for me. Tiffany can't figure it out. So far Jim hasn't had to work out of town. It might be because there is only 2 Techs in this area...Jim and Ray. Ray took his wife to the ER the other nite and they are still not sure what is wrong with her. ...so he's Not been to work. Jim has to work this area. Well, Jim just called he is on his way home for lunch. I'll chat with you later. HUGS!

Hi everybody, have a great day Very Happy

Another batch of people is fleeing the office for vacation, it's becoming really quiet, no more lines for coffee Laughing . But the boss will be back next week Rolling Eyes
PattiT, I had to call the painter off. It was raining off and on, so he agreed with me. Will have a try next Friday again. Will your guys be able to finish today? Luckily they are able to use another route.
I have to go for a colonoscopy next Tuesday. I'm not sure what to expect of it, it's my first ever. Confused
Made some fried rice with chicken and veggies tonight, spiced it up with some Thai curry paste.

Ann-Marie, glad the car hasn't died on you. Sorry your Mom's leg isn't doing so well, must be a real set back for her. Enjoy your day of and take a big cat nap with the kitties.
Debbie, you are really busy today. Sorry to hear your legs are acting up again. Glad Jim is still around.
Martha, I don't envy you. Our weather has been cool, rainy and very windy. The office chicks are trying to find shelter behind the chimneys, so it's very difficult taking pics of them. The down on their heads is almost gone too. But the cooler weather makes me more active and I like it that way despite of my still unpainted frontdoor Laughing

Hey Y'all:

Went to visit dh yesterday. He is still physically the same but the dementia marches on. Took him print outs of the flood pictures I took & he carefully studied each one. Left them with him. AC started acting up on the way home.....great.

The water at the head of our road is evaporating at about 1" a day & every afternoon we get at least 1" of rain. So it really is about as deep with no change. We are having a major skeeter, gnat & fly invasion. I keep spraying outside & it helps a little.

Y'all take care...

Well, the crew has left and they did a great job cleaning up. They even replanted my plants, put the mulch back around, and put all my rock border back. The owner of the business was out here way before his workers, worked right along side the men, and was the last to leave, after HE did all the cleanup. I used to call this man when I was the manager at McDonalds and we had plumbing issues. He said he was just at "my" McDonalds yesterday. I told him I had to quit in 1989 so it hasn't been "my" McDonalds for a long time.
I am wondering what Gary will think of the job they did. I sure hope he is pleased because they planned and replanned to do the least amount of damage to our patio, yard and flower beds. I think he is going to say we should get a discount since they didn't have to tear up the patio and repair it. I am having a bad day and can't get down to the basement to see their work down there, but I am sure they did a great job.
The workers, every time they would come in or out would say "something sure smells good." I hope the chicken tastes as good as it smells.

**Fan, I was thinking of having brown rice with our chicken, it wont be nearly as pretty as your meal though. The prep you do at home for the colonoscopy is the worst part, after that it is no big deal.

**Debbie, does Jim work for the phone company or electric company? I forget. Sounds like even if he doesn't get sent out of town he will be working long hours. I hope Ray's wife is okay.

**Nubbins, I am surprised that the state doesn't spray to kill the mosquitos. Luckily PA does, we have a good bit of West Nile cases so I am sure that is why.
I wonder if hubby had memories brought back by the pictures. It was a good idea to let them there with him. Dementia and Alzheimers are such devastating diseases, so hard on everyone.

Anybody watching Big Brother? I just love show like that, Survivor, Amazing Race, etc. If you watched Survivor, Russell Hantz nephew
Willie is one of the contestents, he looks and sounds just like Russell so I can't believe that he was going to try to pretend he didn't even know who Russell Hantz was. Of course that didn't last long.

See you all tomorrow.

Been very busy with camping and now the garden produce is coming like crazy so will be doing a lot of canning soon. have green peas i shelled for 2 hours that sucked. my beans are almost ready and my cucumbers wont be far behind so will be a canning fool soon.
We were glad to have enough rain and sunshine this year. but its been hotter than normal we had days in the high 90s the last 2 weeks. hubby has been helping his brother in law build a garage so hes been keeping busy also. of course the grandkids are driving me crazy. they say they have nothing to do because we dont live walking distance to the beach or anything so they need to wait for mom to take them.
Hubby is doing great he has recovered from his stroke about 80% so his dr is very happy he lost 45 lbs and watches what he eats very close. Well my oven went off so that means its supper time have a great day and all take care of yourselfs. I am doing better from my fall down my daughters steps but still sore. yes stairs are my worst enemeys.
