Morning everyone,
PattiT - pretty much every year that seems to happen with the fish, they are saying there are too many foreign fish & shells in the Lake, killing the natural born fish. They have signs all over saying to clean your equipment once you are done fishing.
Raining this morning, some thunder & lightning every so often too. Glad that it is raining, sure need it.
Was cute, my neighbor came over when we were outside on the deck last night, saying "I have something for you." She gave me a lavender colored Mini Rose. I planted it right away so it'll take root before it gets really cold. Had to move one of my Asiatic Lilies to the side of the house to give the rose some room. Geez, I pulled out the Lily and I was amazed at the root ball on that thing!!
Headed into work shortly, one of the girls needs a ride so will be stopping at her house to pick her up too.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
Take care,

Good Morning, Friends!
Yesterday, I mentioned I was baking bread. Instead, Eric came here and I was "in and out" with him. Just catching up with him was a blessing.
At the moment, the bread ingredients should be at room temperature soon. Homemade bread will be on the menu with cauliflower soup and some type of salad.
Ann - We had the rain, but no lightning.... good news for high school football. When your new roses bloom, will you post pictures?
Debbie - How nice that you are seeing more family and friends.
Fan - Thanks, Fan... I'm glad you like the pictures. Looking at your lovely pictures is a big help.
PattiT - Thanks for sharing how to make the cleaning cloths. I'll have to "grab" some old tee shirts before Karl takes them to the garage for auto repairs. I don't use them for inside cleaning once they have oil, dirt, etc.
Have a great weekend!
~~Vicki

Hey Y'all:
Our "barn" is not a big full size one. It has a 9'x10' chicken coop on one end & a 15'x12' side where the cows were fed & could get out of the weather. Height wise it is about 11' on a slant to the back. Also has a front porch where we kept the feed in large gang boxes meant to hold tools. I have to be very careful tearing it down - the wooden planks on the outside have started to rot. Want to try to save the roofing, metal to reuse later.
AC in car is fixed....cost 460.00 & 240.00 of that was labor. I will think hard next time something goes up that I know I can replace the part. It is working well but the new refrigerant is no where near as cold as the old one. It might work well in new cars but when you start out with the old style & have to convert to use the "new" style it really makes a huge difference in comfort.
Have another plumbing project to do today...my kitchen drains are clogged & have resisted 4 treatments of un-clogger. Hope the clogged area is where I can see it (which I think it is). If I had a drain snake I wouldn't have to take everything apart...but I don't.
Raining off & on today & hotter than heck outside. Good time for inside projects. Supposed to get a break in the heat next week tho...can't wait.
Y'all take care...

Hubby and the girls had some pretty wild weather for Hershey Park today. They have stuck it out though, just heard from them and the girls are enjoying the roller coasters. Glad that their day wasn't ruined to bad by the weather.
I have been keeping my self busy, a little cleaning here and a little there. Bottled up the herbs that I grew and dried. Froze some green peppers. Now I am working on the e-mails that I just can't seem to keep ahead of.
I have been also researching a trip for my sister and I to visit relatives that live in near Somerset. I really want to go, but hate spending the money. The relatives we are going to visit are HEAVY smokers so we have to stay in a hotel. I would love to see the farm where we grew up, our great grandparents house, visit the town of Somerset to see if there is anything left that we remember.
**Ann, when I mentioned that to someone about the fish, they said the same thing, that it has been happening for a while now. Your rose sounds pretty. Hope your weekend isn't too hectic.
**Vicki, very pretty nasturtium, mine have run wild! Vicki, with those cleaning cloths, I did find that since I accidentally bought the newer Dawn it is too soapy. I will have to search for the original blue Dawn. Most of the cleaning supplies stress that it has to be the original blue Dawn. How nice that you got a visit from Eric and had a chance to catch up.
**Carolyn, happy birthday to Trenton. These grandkids grow up even faster than our children did, right?
**Nubbins, even though your barn is not a huge one, still sounds like a challenge. It will be great if you can re-use some of the materials. I was just thinking last night, that you used to say you were from Dogpatch.
Now that my husband delivers parts to garages he said it is ridiculous how much they mark up the parts they put in for their customers.
That is a shame that after that big investment that the air conditioning doesn't freeze your a** off, ha ha.
Hello to anyone else that gets a chance to stop in. _________________ Patti

hey everyone. just been lazy this week. we had a pretty good reunion last weekend. My sis from FL;sis from here; a couple of cousins; all 3 of my girls.and their families showed up on saturday. We had a nice visit. We stayed in the motel rooms but the younger ones had tents. They got drenched a couple times. But it was still a lot of fun, Some of them went canoing. while we sat and visited.
Jessica called the other day about the house. They have been having plumbing problems so had to call a plumber to come out. I had to send her a check for $225.00. ouch!!!. If we had been closer Jim could have fixed it. but it would cost us about that to drive there and back.
I hope everyone stays dry and cool this weekend. We had quite alot of rain and strong winds last night.
I guess I had better go fix something to eat soon. TTYL. _________________ Once in a while I dream that a gigantic squirrel is carrying me away. Does that make me a NUT? |

Hi everybody, have a brilliant Sunday
Sorry for not making it here yesterday. I had a very fun dinner with my friend and her hubby. Chatting about how their lives are going to be turned upside down when "Pukkie" will arrive. She's already growing quite a baby bump.
And since the weather is going to be very beautiful today we also decided to go for a short visit to "monumental factory" close to her house and enjoy a view over the city from above.
Ann-Marie, that's so sweet of your neighbour. Too bad my backyard isn't very suitable for growing flowers and plants, apart from cactuses
Vicki, thanks for the compliment . We made spaghetti with fennel in tomato sauce yesterday. For tonight I have Danielle's Teriyaki chicken on the menu. With celeriac salad.
Carolyn, congrats on Trenton's B-day . Have a fun day.
Nubbins, that's pretty expensive for an AC in a car. Be careful in tearing the barn down, just make sure somebody is around when you are doing it. Just in case.
PattiT, sounds like you are planning a trip down to memory lane. Wished I could do that to our old farm. Luckily I still have pictures.
Grammadot, glad to hear you had a nice reunion.
Better start working on my salad and finish it, before I have to go out. TTYL. _________________ Fanmajie

Morning,
Funny, was beautiful and sunny when I woke up at 8:30...now it's pouring out and getting cloudier. It's a bit cooler than what it has been. Can tell, Leo & Willow are zooming around here. Jim grabbed the camera and was taking pictures, he told me there was a rainbow outside. Once I get it on the computer will post it. It was a big one!
Busy day yesterday, trying to get caught up here and there. When it's so busy I don't get the chance to check certain drawers, so yesterday I did and then when I work Tue & Wed night will check the rest of them. Always something to keep me busy.
Off today and I don't plan on doing ANYTHING!! Already told Jim not to ask me to go anywhere or do anything...I'm exhausted. Going through that flu/cold/sinus, plus being so busy at work, really wore me down. Just want to take today and tomorrow and relax.
Want to call Mom and see how Benji's new medicine is working, see what she has been up to.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday!

Good morning girls, no special plans for me today. Hubby decided to work today at his old job, he usually works a Sat., but Hershey Park won out yesterday. I have leftovers in the fridge for dinner so I don't even have to cook.
Wow, hubby opened up all the windows before we went to bed, woooo what is ever chilly in here this morning. I have been sweating profusely every night, so I had the fan drawing in air from the window. I woke up and was not in a dripping wet nightgown for once.
**Gramma, so glad that so many of your relatives were able to come to the reunion. It is always great when you can see and catch up with relatives you don't see very often. Usually so sweet to see all the cousins playing together. Plumbing, you should have gotten a hold of Nubbins, ha ha. She has been doing great with her plumbing difficulties. Seriously, those big unexpected bills are a pain.
**Fan, sounds like you had a really fun day yesterday. Congratulations to your friends on expecting a little bundle of joy. I keep meaning to make Danielle's teriyaki chicken, I will definitely put it on the list of things to make this week. It seems to be a big hit with everyone. I am sure hubby and I will love it.
**Ann, I really think spending the day resting up is just what the Dr. ordered. I hope after some rest that you will get back on your feet, feeling normal again.
Let us know how Benji and your Mom are doing.
Gonna go get myself some lunch, have a great Sunday everyone. _________________ Patti
