OK - I see that this forum has pretty much been abandoned, but -

I have found a really cheap wine that is very drinkable - if you like Merlot.
It is a one note wine - whatever taste you get on the first sip is what the entire bottle will taste like - no afters or notes or nuances...just wine.
What you taste first is all you get - but it's not bad stuff for sipping while watching TV or playing on Bakespace.

I've cooked with it and the results were fine.

The name is TISDALE and it costs around 4.00 - yes - four dollars.

It does come in other varieties, but they taste like cheap wine at first taste - not good.

The merlot tastes enough like real wine that you will be tempted to play with it and food to see what other flavors you can coax from it - relax - they are not really there - I suspect this is a wine so young that it hasn't developed a personality... it's just a nice child.

Another dubious trait is that if the opened 1/2 gone bottle sits for a month - it tastes exactly the same as when you first opened it Laughing

Thank you very much for the review. The state controls our liquor so I am not sure I will be able to find it, but I will be sure to look for it. I hate to spend too much on a wine for cooking, but I want it to taste good. Lately I have been going to wine tastings at wineries and picking up bottles here and there. That way I know I will like what I buy.
