Hi everybody, have a smashing Friday

It was wonderful to have the day off. Managed to do most of my chores, only some ironing left for today. The weather this morning was cold and sunny, almost frosty. Perfect for my laundry. Only the clouds kicked in too soon and now it's raining. I saw some ice pellets too.
For tonight I have cocktail hour and dinner at my neighbours'. Tomorrow I plan on hopping over up north. There's a new book release about genealogy and it has a chapter on my family in the 18th century in it. So I got to meet the bloke who wrote it. I know his work and he has done some published research on my family before.
Martha, glad your mum's condition does improve. I can imagine her being depressed about giving up her own place.
Gotta prepare some stuff for tomorrow and go for cocktails. TTYL

Hello there Fan, sounds like fascinating conversations will be ahead with talking to the genealogist who wrote the book. I am thinking with the time difference that your cocktails will be over by now.
I had planned to get some things done today but didn't seem to get to far. I got two holiday decorations put together one for the kitchen and one for the living room. I made the filling up for some empanadas made this morning, next I will go out and make the pastry for it. I will be freezing some, to have on hand for the holidays. That is about it. I did go through my holiday wraps, bows, tags, cards etc. Now I need to make a list of what I need. My SIl is coming tomorrow to take me out for breakfast and told me to let her know where I might need to go tomorrow. Maybe I will look for some ribbons that is about all I need, oops and some gift boxes. I want to try to keep up with the gift wrapping and do the gifts as they come in the mail. I got two yesterday so I guess I am technically behind already, jeesh. I need boxes for them, I thought they would come in boxes.
Hubby is off hunting again, I think this is his last time, he is only going to be gone until tomorrow night or Sunday morning. I am hating all this time here by myself. I have been so bored. I am glad that I will be getting out of the house tomorrow. With him being gone, I will not be able to go to Madison's swim meet. It is in a town pretty far away, for me anyway.
Fan, I loved the sculpture of the bowling pins and balls. The floors in that building would make me want to look down all the time, meaning I would probably run into things, ha ha. I bet you ARE glad that you didn't wear a skirt or a dress.
**Martha, I am glad that you were able to find a nursing home near your house for your mother. Sounds like she is where she needs to be, getting physical therapy and having someone to cook meals for her. I hope she comes to like or at least tolerate where she is.
When I was going through my Christmas things I found some "Chinese Takeout" plastic boxes and when I read about your wanting to make cookies I thought, aha, that is what I could put in the boxes.
I am having trouble believing that tomorrow is Dec. already. I hate how fast time is flying by.
Is your daughter excited to decorate her new house this year for the holiday, or was she in the new house last year?
**Debbie, I hope you and Jim are feeling better. I had redone my medication list in preparation for the insurance lady that visited on Tuesday. I try to keep it current but it needed a lot of changes. Please keep us up to date on how you and Jim are doing. I thought of you when I unpacked a Jim Shore figurine I had bought last year. I bought it on sale after Christmas last year, I think I will try to do that every year, there are some really cute ones.

I better get out in the kitchen and get busy. Hope everyone has a nice evening.
