Morning everyone,
Well, this is the last time I will be typing to you in 2012...will see you in 2013!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year's Eve. Don't have much planned, probably just the norm for us - watch TV and go to bed.
Going into work shortly...heard we still had 22 critters. Was hoping to go back to only 10 or 12.
Take care,
Ann

Happy New Year everybody, make 2013 rock.
I picked up my "oliebollen" at the bakery this morning. They look yummy, but the idea of eating them still isn't very appealing. Had a fever last night and even now I'm either steaming or shivering.
Ann-Marie, no big plans here either. Gotta stay at home because of the fireworks. They started this morning at 10. Myō isn't too happy with all the noise, but I can't say she's very nervous either. It'll be a lot different at midnight I guess. My neighbour at the pet shop has to stay home for the same reason, so we'll probably go out in the street for a couple of minutes wishing everybody a Happy New Year and have a cocktail. _________________ Fanmajie

Happy New Year's eve every one. Our New Year's eves have certainly changed over the years. When we were young we went to parties, then when we had young children we got together with other families of young children, then when they were old enough to drink we had a party here and our grown children would spend the night, now we just stay home, hubby goes to bed early because he hunts early New Year's Day so I am the only one up and watching the festivities on t.v.
**Carolyn, what an awful thing to happen on Facebook, doesn't sound like a friend to me. I certainly never thought you were a bad person and to me you seem friendly.
I hope the snow stays away until your children are safe at home. A mother never stops worrying no matter how old her children are. My sons don't seem to understand that.
This is a very stressful time of year, I will pray for the New Year to be better for you. Sounds like you were able to visit family for Christmas, that is always nice.
I can't even imagine watching any of my children go through a divorce. I know I love all my DIL's and once the spouses of out children have been in the family for a while the become a family member and you love them so it would be hard to see them not coming around, talking to them regularly etc. My heart goes out to you.
Seems like I have written a book to you, just know that many of us here care about you. ((((Carolyn))))
**Tango, glad you will be having the chemo close to home to begin with. It is scary to go into the operating room, not knowing exactly what they might have to do. Just know that they will be doing there best to get all the cancer and give you the best chance of beating this nasty nasty disease. There are so many people praying for the Dr. guidance dealing with your cancer. I really think it helps.
I have been around people dealing with cancer and I know that most of them had terrible mood swings, and acted so much out of character, the people that know you will be understanding.
Do they say you will lose your hair for sure? Some people I know didn't lose their hair. If you do, you might be surprised at how good you might look. My step mother's daughter who I only see once or twice a year came to a picnic one time, I told her I just loved her hair, forgetting that she had gone through chemo, it had just started growing back and I thought it looked quite chic. I am sure it will grow back before you know it if it is anything like mine. I think of you often and when I do, I pray for you day and night. ((((((Laurie))))))
**Fan, so sorry that you had to miss the birthday celebration, but sounds like you made a wise decision. Do you think you will be up to taking the photos? I hope your cocktail this evening is another delicious one.
**Nubbins, too bad there weren't any cars on the lot, when I rented one for hubby and one son, when they got there they didn't have the car I had paid for so they gave them a Lincoln Town Car instead. Hubby loved all the bells and whistles in that car. He was in heaven driving that around for a couple of days. That was such a waste of your time and a disappointment, I would push for an upgrade for your troubles. Doesn't hurt to try.
**Karen so nice to see you checking in. How was your Christmas? I am glad that you have your church praying for Tango also. I have heard from several people that their scar was not as big as I had heard it might be. I hope it will be the same for me. Happy New Year to you and your family.
**Ann, I think a lot of us have the same New Year's eve plans. I actually prefer that kind of celebration as opposed to having to dress up, worry about drinking and driving etc. I tell people you don't only have to worry about the driver of your car, but the other drivers on the road!
22 Critters seems like a lot, I hope you aren't too busy.
Happy New Year's one and all. _________________ Patti

Soon it will be 2013. We have no special plans for tonight or tomorrow. After all the Christmas and birthday treats last week, I do not plan on making or buying oliebollen. In fact, I didn't even make Banket Bars, cookies, etc. for the first time in years. Fresh, crunchy vegetables sound perfect to ring in the new year... if we stay up that long.
Tomorrow, I'm ready for Big Ten (college) football on the radio... Northwestern, Purdue, Michigan, Nebraska, and Wisconsin!!
Ann - Do you have tomorrow off?
Fan - Snert is a possiblity, this week or next.
PattiT - As you can see above, our New Year's Eve celebration has changed, too. We used to have a party with adults and children in a gym... lots of games and appetizers.
I have to go back and read prior posts.
~~Vicki
