Hi Everybody!!
OMG! Don't tell me I'm the first one here today! Where is everybody?
Well, it's 25° outside and we gained another 2-3 inches of snow overnight.
Not much else going on. I'm eating better every day... yesterday I actually ate corn chips!!! OK, so I guess I'm not eating BETTER, it's just easier to eat more things!!
Yesterday I made an awesome dinner (if I say so myself). We had a nice warming bowl of Pasta Fazole followed by a big plate of Penne with Red Clam Sauce and fresh Italian Bread. Mmmmm! And tonight I will be eating the leftovers. Mmmmm again!
Hope everyone is OK. I'll check back in here later.... have a good weekend! _________________ -----Martha |

Happy weekend everybody, make it rock.
Martha, I'm here. You were just seconds ahead of me. Your dinner indeed sounds awesome. Gotta check it out.
The weather here was still dull and grey, no trace of the promised sunshine. So I had to make some by my self and had another go on Ann-Marie's Sunshine chicken using drumsticks this time with carrots at the side and cilantro for garnish. Turned out awesome with the chicken still moist. Yum
I met my neighbour's new girl for the Saturdays at our morning coffee and we played a bit with the bird spiders
So is there anything exciting going on this weekend? _________________ Fanmajie

Afternoon girls. We had some sunshine today, but unfortunately it made me see how badly I needed to dust. I guess it was good, I need to be doing more around the house. I have been spending too much time getting e-cookbooks published on Bakespace and posting recipes to another site.
One of my sons is helping someone move next week in a town near Philly and he said he would take me to visit Nick. He will drop me off in the morning and pick me up in the evening. I called Nick to let him know and told him to think about anything he might want me to make and bring for him or anything I could bring from the local butcher shops etc.
He said he is pretty sore today from them getting samples of bone and marrow yesterday. He got a case of the vanilla ensure and said he thought it tasted pretty good. I am so glad that he will drink it.
We are having barbecued pork chops on the grill, baked potatoes, and corn for dinner.
**Fan, did you think the Sunshine chicken was more moist with dark meat? I don't like the looks of that spider. It looks like a tarantula and I saw more than my share when I lived in Arizona.
**Martha, we had a few flurries today, that was quite enough for me. If I were to ignore the clams, your meal sounded awesome! Glad to hear that you are able to eat better.
Gotta go finish dinner, _________________ Patti

Morning Martha, Fan, PattiT and everyone...
Didn't do much yesterday. I was so busy Thur & Fri, was nice to just relax in the recliner all day with the kitties. We watched Westerns and a Shirley Temple movie (Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm), she sure made some cute movies. Nowadays there is so much blood and gore, haven't watched a good movie in ages. We did watch the newest Ice Age a month or so ago, they are always so darned cute.
Might go out for lunch later and then to the bookstore. We are getting snow showers now, blah. Next weekend it's showing temps into the 40's. Maybe Spring is right around the corner after all!!
Fan - glad you tried the chicken again and it came out better. I bought chicken thighs, will try those next time.
PattiT - our neighbor gave Jim some Ensure. Jim told me it tasted like a vanilla milkshake.
Martha - glad we didn't get snow and inches that you got!
Later,

Hi everybody, have a smashing Sunday
And guess what Spring is around the corner, cause I started decluttering and really felt like doing something about the mess in my house. To me that's either the Spring cleaning fever or postponing tax battles. Anyway I did manage to do away with a few years of old magazines, some boxes and and clothes I'm not wearing anymore.
Ann-Marie, the chicken drumsticks came out perfect. I think because chicken meat from the thighs and legs usually can have a few minutes more cooking time than boneless chicken breasts before turning dry.
PattiT, come over to my house and see the dust . I even noticed spiderwebs with cat hair woven into it. Great you get to see Nick next week. _________________ Fanmajie

We got up early and went with our one son, James to a flea market. I like to go because there are stands thar sell fruits and vegetables. Got quite a bit of both. Much better prices than at the grocery store. Hubby and James got a huge plate of what one stand calls their Hunters breakfast. Potatoes, eggs, sausage, ham and peppers all cooked together. I had 4 crabmeat balls. Too bad we went on a Sunday, none of the Amish stands are open. The one stand sells many different flavors of angel food cakes, I love them.
**Fan, I really need to get rid of some of my magazines. I hate to toss them when I haven't even read them, but I will never get them all read. My husband has started calling me a hoarder, the pile beside my chair is even bothering me now, so I guess it is time to do something with them. I noticed some cobwebs here also.
**Ann, I used to like the Shirley Temple movies also. Nick said the vanilla ensure reminded him of cake batter. I hope he will still enjoy it once the chemo starts. We have been having snow showers off and on but not enough to lay on the ground.
I am on the I-pad and it says the battery is low so I will say goodbye for now. _________________ Patti

We went shopping in Erie. Needed to go to the craft store and get some dish stands so that I could set up some of my pretty flowered platters and I found dark green yarn too. Then over to Torero's to eat Mexican, after there we went to Lowe's to get new stoppers for the toilets. Stopped at Ollie's too, found a nice cookbook and new sheets for the twin bed ($9.99, thought that was a good deal!).
We just came back from Elk Creek...didn't take many pictures though. Told Jim the sun drew me out but it was still cold outside. Nice to get out in the fresh air and walk around. Lots of icicles on the banks of Elk Creek, pretty.
PattiT - a lot of people say they lose their taste or just don't want to eat after they start chemo. I feel so bad for people who have to go through chemo, would like to hug every one of them.
Fan - I know what you mean about spring cleaning...I am getting antsy to start cleaning the walls and knick-knacks.
Hope everyone has a nice quiet evening,
