Hi Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around... my hard drive bit the dust! I'd been fiddling with it for a couple of weeks, I thought I might have had a virus or something but it finally just died! So I'm writing this on Jim's lap top. I don't know how long it will be until I can either get it fixed or buy a new computer.... but I wanted to let you know what happened so you wouldn't think I switched over to Facebook and left you guys behind!

Have a great weekend...... be seeing you.

Good Morning, Friends!

I am taking a break and baking cookies... so thankful that our utilities are still on AND our sump pump is working. Other areas are not so fortunate... forced evacuations to turn utilities off, and Red Cross centers are setup. Flooding is at historic levels, and should peak Sunday or Monday. Yesterday and this morning, we were surprised by SNOW! (By the way, the President Gerald R. Ford Museum has water covering the grass where crowds sit to watch the July 4 fireworks.) How things change in just a week. Last year and even last week, newscasters continued to report LOW water levels.

Martha - I hope you can repair/replace your computer soon. My desktop computer is over ten years old, and I cringe at replacing XP.

Debbie - What a blessing that your first skin graft is growing. Was your second graft yesterday?

Fan - Moving is over... great news. Don't work too hard behind the computer. Did you post the recipe for your Feta and Bacon in Puff Pastry?

Stop in for a coffee break. Warm cookies are out of the oven!

Hi everybody, have a smashing weekend Very Happy

I escaped the city this morning on the early morning train up to my old home town Leeuwarden for a lecture on Roman Catholic genealogical heritage in Fryslân in the afternoon and a bit of shopping in the morning. It was a wonderful sunny day, still a bit on the chilly side. Spent a lot of money buying enthronement souvenirs, a very good quality cooking pot and meats. Cool
Treated my self on a delicious hamburger from this truck.

By now I'm really broken from carrying all the stuff home.
Martha, thank goodness we still have you Wink Hopefully your computer can be fixed soon.
Vicki, I haven't posted the recipe, actually it was an ad hoc creation. But I'll post it tomorrow. Glad you are still safe and dry. See you all tomorrow, I'm gonna fall into pieces Laughing

Hi all,

Has been a busy and hectic week, we were down to 19 critters when I left last night. Shocked Shocked On the go from the time I go in til I punch out.

Martha - I bought a refurbished one from the people that fixed my old computer before...very satisfied with it. Can you look around for a local person that fixes computers, maybe he has extra ones that he can redo for you. It's a bit cheaper too then buying a brand new one. Wink

Vicki - crazy weather!! Glad you have been spared from the major flooding. Yep, we woke up to snow this morning also. Was hitting the windows at around 6 am, like frozen rain. Yuck.

Fan - what a wonderful day you had! Love the picture of the hamburger truck. Yes, when we go grocery shopping I am tired the rest of the day...wonder why that is??

My computer temp is showing 39º but when Jim and I went through a little town earlier it was showing 42º.

Ended up going back to Walmart to have the girl fix my glasses...had a box fall on the right corner of them yesterday, really knocked them out of whack. I just can't win with these glasses. Sad Confused

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!
Take care,

Good day everybody, have a great Sunday Very Happy

The weather is wonderful today. Unfortunately I'm so tied up with laundry and household chores, due to yesterdays outing, that I have no time to go out Sad .
Even my new cooking pot is still on display Rolling Eyes .

Ann-Marie, 19 critters is a lot. You must have been exhausted, I was only tired Smile . My grocery shopping is always easy, I don't need that much. But if I go out B-day shopping or shopping for kitchen appliances, that really wears me out, physically and financially Wink .
Vicki, I posted the recipe in the April recipe thread. It isn't that much of a recipe actually. How's the flooding in your area?
