Hi everybody, have a smashing day Very Happy

Spring has finally come to the Netherlands Very Happy

There are flowers at the waterside. I'm so excited.
Today we also got our city's King's Linden tree in the front yard of our office. Next week it'll probably get an orange ribbon which will be cut by the mayor of the city and maybe our university's RM.

It's part of an old trafition, each time when a king or queen is enthroned each of the cities and communities in the Netherlands will plant a Linden tree.
The one below is in my home town Leeuwarden, it was put up in honour of Queen Wilhelmina in 1898.

The tree in our office yard will get a kind fencing too, I suppose. Whether if it'll be such a nice one still remains to be seen.
But let me tell you enthronement fever is running high, even the color on the coffee pack has turned into orange instead of the regular red and it reads "Long live the king"

The news has it that a train has been painted orange and will be on the rails till September. There are already about 7 songs composed in honour of the king. And I still have to endure it all for another week.
Vicki, pay attention to the news about the Netherlands. Just make sure you don't miss it. Wink
So what are you all up to?

Good Evening, Friends!

We just came home after dinner with Eric and Mary. We feel so blessed to have family nearby.

Fan - Local flooding is the main story, now. However, as the Dutch king's inauguration comes closer, I'm sure it we be on our local news. I hope to visit local Dutch stores and bakeries to see what they are doing. Does it happen April 30? Thank you for sharing the Dutch traditions, too.

~~Vicki
