Morning everyone,

We now have 18 critters but that could change today or tomorrow, seems that's when we get them the most, Thur & Fri seem to be the busiest days of the week or maybe it seems that way because I am there by myself so much those days.

We had a rain shower yesterday, was nice, my flowers really needed it. Smile We are to get more rain and thunder showers tomorrow.

Tango - my roses are just now getting green, trimmed them the other day. Probably won't bloom for another month or so.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Take care,
Ann

Good morning everybody, have a smashing day Very Happy

Ann-Marie, we had some badly needed rain showers and a thunderstorm last night. It made everything look fresh and beautiful this morning. Have fun at work.
I'm enjoying my time off from the office and everything seems to be working for me today. I cleaned the outside windows and wood work and it soo totally lightens up the house Laughing . The weather is chilly, but with bright sunny spells in between the clouds and a fantastic breeze working brilliantly on my laundry. And on top of that broccoli chicken soup for lunch Very Happy

Who's gonna beat that?

Good Morning, Friends!

This morning, I'm planting flat leaf parsley, thyme, rosemary, and basil. Chives and sage are up, ready to be used. Rain rolls in shortly, and temperatures will drop into the 50's. Soup is on the menu tonight.

Ann - Sounds like you have a brief reprieve from the busyness.

Fan - How cold is it? A lot more men come out for the Street Sweeping with their families. Here are a few pictures. Smile

I have to go back and check posts from the last few days.

~~Vicki

Hi Vicki, you've beaten me. Wink That looks like a lot of fun. Can you tell me about the street sweeping day? Is it a tradition?
We came down from 23C yesterday to 15C today Sad

Fan here is the history:

The first parade of Tulip Time: The Volksparade (People's Parade) begins in downtown Holland. But before anyone can march down the city streets, they must pass inspection — people and streets.

In the morning the city's mayor declares the streets to be filthy and orders them cleaned. Anyone with a Dutch costume, a broom and a bucket of water can help sweep the streets clean. Only then can the parade start.

-- After the street cleaning a full parade follows. One of these years, Karl and I will stay for the whole parade. We usually walk to Adam and Melissa's home when they finish street sweeping, and head back home ahead of the crowds.

Lovely pictures Vicki, did you know that "street sweeping [straatje vegen]" was a weekly chore on Saturdays in the old days in the Netherlands? Straatje usually was the part from your front door up to the public road.

Fan - That is logical. Holland prides itself in its cleanliness (throughout the year). They even have ice melting devices built into the sidewalks.
