Good morning girls. It is supposed to be cooler today, only the high 80s instead of near 100. The humidity is down so it doesn't seem so tropical, hooray. If it is going to feel like the tropics then I want the beauty of the tropics!
I invited my SIL to come along on Saturday to the big swim meet so I have to remember to check out what time it starts etc. so we can make plans. This year is a little humbling for Madison, she is used to winning everything because she was the oldest in her group, now she is the youngest and is having to deal with not coming in first. I think it will be good for her and she will have to push herself more.
Not much to do today, some phone calls to make and information to look up on the computer, have a load of wash in, I am ready for a day of not being busy.
Hope to see some more Bakespacers posting here today. See you all later.

That is a suspicious hyper link, don't click on it. I just ran my virus protection it said everything is okay, but now I am not so sure?

Hi everybody, hope you all are having a smashing day Very Happy

PattiT, we were in the high 80s too. But it feels like boiling, inside the office it was 85F with the fans on. Even now at 21.00 pm it's still around 80F outside and no wind. Even the insects were gone during the day. The only insect willing to pose was a fly Shocked

It may be a good experience for Madison to be the youngest again. It may indeed enhance her resilience in dealing with not coming in first as a matter of fact.
Tomorrow I'll have to see my dentist again. He has to replace my temporary crown for a permanent one. After that I really hope not to see him again before december considering the bills so far Wink .

I swear, it seems like I just checked in 2 or 3 days ago, but it's been over a week again. Where does the time go?!? I was actually really busy last week - had that shower that weekend, then lots of work this past week. Actually came to the office two extra days, so that will be a nice paycheck next week. Then I had another shower I was baking for for yesterday. I was told that a bunch of people asked for my recipes and blog address, etc. That always makes me happy. One woman from the last shower asked if I would make Paklava for an upcoming event for her.

We were having a cookout at work today, so I was originally planning to make something to bring in, but after all the baking and cookie decorating over the weekend, I was in no mood for more yesterday, so I threw together a jalapeno relish instead. Of course, I left it in the fridge this morning when I headed to work!! Rolling Eyes

Patti - Hope you're feeling better now. How awful to be dealing with that for 2 months! If you're not careful, you might evaporate!! Hope you're keeping up with your fluids! As for you and Martha with the flowers, I'm having the darndest time myself ... bought some herbs to grow in my windows and they're all dying in this weather. Either the AC is too cold for them, or the dehumidifier is on because my apartment is half underground and builds up too much moisture. Can't find a "happy place" for them where they're not suffering from one or the other. Might have to try the bathroom window and keep that door closed.

Fan - Makes me nervous to see all of those "bridges" out in front of the apartments during the construction. If that was here, I'd say it was a lawsuit waiting to happen. My first thought was of someone in high heels getting one caught. Glad your little feathered friend is doing well - seems funny to see photos of them next to Myo. Seems like there should be a chase scene going on.

Gramma-Patti - Can't believe that tool taking advantage of your property like that, then having the nerve to keep calling you from jail?!? He's lucky you aren't telling them to keep him there re: the meds, etc.

Tango - HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Laughing

Carolyn - Hope your grandson is doing a little better now. Not sure if they've had the services yet, etc. What an awful thing to have to cope with, and a custody battle going on in the family at the same time, etc. That's a lot for the kids to deal with. For anyone actually, but for them especially. Sad

OK, gotta get back to work. Just wanted to make sure to check in while I had a chance!!

Hi Chris, you've been really busy. Must have been fun doing these showers. Do you know this time of year the Paklava is really good and in abundance in the bakeries Wink ?
The bridges went today and probably without high heels left behind in them. I saw them piled up and couldn't find any high heels for my "collection" Wink.
The chicken is doing quite well, but it had a tough time on the hot roof today. There's at least another day with temps close to 90F and T-storms on Wednesday.

We were supposed to get showers here this afternoon but haven't, so I'm wishing I had left my windows open when I got back to the office after lunch. Of course, had I left them open, it definitely WOULD have rained lol.

It's strange that there would be more Paklava this time of year than any other, although I will admit to going to Greek festivals in the summer where they sell it topped with a mound of vanilla ice cream. Personally, I don't get that - the flavors yes, but trying to eat it must be a mess, and I am definitely in the "can't chew ice cream because of fillings" camp. BRAIN FREEZE!!!!

Glad that no heels were sacrificed to the sidewalk gods. Wink

Chris, there's more Paklava because for the Muslim community it's Ramadan month. Smile
