Good Morning, Friends!

Just back from the Farmer's Market. Yummy fruits and vegetables to either freeze or eat fresh. We're definitely freezing more blueberries.

We also have our menu set for Monday (Labor Day) for Eric, Mary, and baby Abby: Danielle's chicken, broccoli salad, corn, and multi-melon hunks. Dessert might be the melons, or something small and yummy.

Now, I have to figure out the menu for us, Saturday and Sunday. And, make banana bread (ripe bananas on hand). Smile

Do you have special plans for this weekend? Going to or having family join you? What do you have going on Fan?

~~Vicki

Hi Vicki and everybody else, have a fantastic long weekend Very Happy

Vicki, glad to see you posting again. Has Eric overcome his initial shock of fatherhood already? Are baby Abby and Mary thriving?
I did get my self some broccoli and pork belly yesterday. Turned it into a soy braised pork dish with noodles and broccoli. Tasted it very good.

Tomorrow I'll be going to a fairy tale theme park with the colleagues from my department and the boss. It's a two hours drive from here.

Fan – You’ll chuckle. Eric has become very possessive over his beloved Abby. If she is fussing when he walks in the door, he will take over. Just like his grandpas, father, brother, and brother-in-law, he feels free to step in and help out in every situation. Smile Mary and Abby are indeed thriving.

I don’t believe I’ve ever had pork belly. Does pork belly need to cook long and slow?

Enjoy that theme park tomorrow!

Oh dear, another victim of female charm. Laughing
Pork belly doesn't always have to cook long and slow. It all depends on the cut. In small strips it's perfect and delicious for a BBQ too if properly marinated. But if you go by bigger chunks with the rind on it's very suitable for slow cooking and give the spices time to do their work.

Hi all!!

Tango has been so sick Sad Than my poor laptop decided to be random??? Anyway I went yesterday to a bunch of pawn shops & played with a bunch of laptops!!! I came home with a Samsung with Windows 7. It's got 4 gigs of Ram & super speedy!!! I love it!! I highly recommend a pawn shop for getting a laptop!! You can play around on them & get a great price too!! Just have to figure Windows 7 out!!

Fan - I'm going to check to see if pork belly is even available, or go the a Dutch butcher.

Tango - Oh, dear... I wish you were feeling better. Congratulations on the new laptop. When we get a "new" computer it will be Windows 7, too.

A quick check in before bed to let you know that Debbie is home and that she will try to get on BakeSpace early next week. Away most of the day for us today and the same tomorrow. Hopefully will be able to check in on Monday.
